Wanted: September Sleevers!

  • Popular Post

Hey Everyone!

My name is Katarina, I'm 26 and I live in Minnesota! Just met with my surgeon today to schedule my VSG! I chose Tuesday, September 2nd, the day after Labor Day! My pre-op liquid diet starts Saturday, August 23rd. Wondering if anyone else is having surgery on or around this date? I would LOVE to have a surgery buddy! Someone who is going through what I am, when I am, so we can help each other out! Also, if anyone has an Instagram, my user name is liberianne_gal. I follow tons of amazing men and women who have went through Weight Loss Surgery and have fantastic stories! Can't wait to create my own!

Hope to talk to some of you soon!

Katarina :D

Thank you!

Surgery yesterday. Pain pretty low. But my bp is low now.

Glad everything went good for you!

I had my sleeve done yesterday. There's quite a bit of upper left sided pain when first waking up and going to the restroom. Lots of gas trapped in the back and under the ribs. Pain does get better as the day goes on. Welp heres to the start of my new body!

Congratulations!!! I have 19 more days!! Keep us posted on your recovery!!

Me too!

this diet is really hard 1000 calories is not alot its really hard i still feel hungry. what can i do to make it work

@ BunnBunn first of all you have to give it some time, you body has to adjust to a lower calorie diet . It takes 3 to 5 days for that. Secondly you NEED to drink lots and LOTS of clear water in addition. I drink about 1.5 to 2 litre a day just water besides the liquid protein shakes.

Today is day 1 of the preop. I just has my first shake. My worry is how will this work with me working in the field. I will be stopping on a regular to peepee (sorry y'all). I am nervous, but I know I can do this. We can do it.

I had my sleeve done on Tuesday. I lost 20 lbs. on the two week diet, before hand. Recovery isn't too bad. I only had nausea when they gave me the disgusting stuff to drink to check for leaks. I came home the next day. They had an onQ hooked up in my belly for pain. That was a new one on me. It helped the pain quite a bit for the incisions. I took it out last night and the pain is very tolerable. My big kicker is that they gave me nausea meds, that give you a headache and pain meds that you have to take with food and make you nauseous. duhhh. Needless to say no pain meds or nausea medication. I have had a whopping headache for the past 3 days. But I crushed up some Tylenol with water and that has helped. So My stats so far are SW 277. Surgery weight 257 this morning 253. I was expecting it to be higher due to the swelling. So I am pleased. I'm hanging on to this bull and riding it for all it's worth.

Congrats Nadine ! What a great loss already :) Keep posting. I just got my call a few minutes ago and I am on at 2:45 on Monday. So we'll see how things go for me.

. I am on the road all day too, I bring a cooler in my car to keep my water cold n helps the shake go down. Good luck!! It so exciting????

Day 2 post op... still a lot of gas and a little nausea. Pain has subsided some but still uncomfortable when laying down or trying to get up out of chairs. On phase 2 full liquids but I been doing mostly clears and sipping on a protein shake throughout the day.

Glad to hear you are during somewhat well. Can't wait to get there, although I'm completely freaking out right now

Glad you are feeling better I am scheduled for the 15th little more then a week away getting very real and nervous

Hi! I am Stephanie and I was sleeved on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. I feel great today...it is my first full day home from the hospital. I am getting my water in, but my protein is another story. Every time I drink anything I feel these bubbles and then I burp. Maybe I am drinking too much at a time?

My doctor is Bernie Hanna at Las Vegas Bariatrics and I had my surgery at North Vista Hospital. My post-op visit is on Thursday, September 11th.
