  2. Yes! I am having lots and lots of hair loss! I too had thick, long hair and now you can almost see my scalp. I think it has slowed a little...or maybe it nust seems so because I dont have much more to loose! I have been using products to get the volume...hoping to camouflage the hair loss. I remember being told this could happen, but at the time, didnt consider how I would feelaboit it. On an up note, I'm down 80+ pounds! Bought a size 10 pair of jeans last weekend. I feel great, but havent lost anything the past couple weeks. I have started working out more...with weights...so I hope I am building muscle.
  3. I was sleeved on 9/3. I felt great out of surgery, but developed kidney stones about two weeks after surgery. Also, for the past few days, if I even smell food cooking I think I am going to be sick. I have not thrown up, but I feel like I could at any moment. I don't have any fever. Even my Vitamins and Protein Shakes make me want to gag. When trying to pack lunches for my family this morning, I thought I would have to leave the house as the smell of the food about made me run to the restroom. Also, when my co-workers heated up thier lunch I got the same feeling. I don't want to eat anything...except sugar free popsicles. Does anyone else feel this way?
  4. I can't eat very much either. I am doing good to get two bites of egg for breakfast, a bite of yogurt for lunch and then about two bites of creamed soup for dinner. I was sleeved on 9/3. Nothing tastes good and most everything makes me nauseous. I am just pushing water and sugar free popsicles...trying to stay hydrated.
  5. I was sleeved on 9/3. I am down 35 pounds. My problem, well I have two, first I have developed kidney stones -- ouch! I have had three bouts with the pain and am having one now. And, my second thing is that NOTHING tastes good. If I eat, I feel like I am going to gag. Just the thought of eating makes me sick to my stomach. I can eat whatever I want as long as I chew it, so I have tried to cook some of my old favorites just to try to get something in. They don't taste the same at all and make me nauseous. Currently, I am getting in about 300 calories a day. I am drinking water, Crystal light and super free popsicles trying to stay hydrated. Anyone else feel this way?
  6. I don't know how she would do that. If I eat too fast I can feel the food backing up in my throat...and that's applesauce and creamed soup! I did eat some mashed broccoli yesterday...just one little piece and I was uncomfortably full. (Sleeved 9/3)
  7. I was sleeved on 9/3 and I still have trouble getting in all my protein. I just keep pushing and will eventually get it. Although I hate the taste, Isopure RTD has been the best option for me. I drink half the bottle before lunch and the other half after lunch. It leaves my evenings open to push water. I feel great, but I remember going through the tired stage right after surgery. Good luck with your new journey!!
  8. My Nutritionalist told me at my post op appointment (day 8) that I could go to soft foods...retried beans, avocado, banana, scrambled eggs, etc. And that I wouldn't hurt my sleeve as long as I didn't eat more than 2 T. It is so funny how doctors are so different. Maybe it depends on the person somehow? I don't know...but the recommendations seem to fluctuate drastically.
  9. I was sleeved on 9-3 in Las Vegas. Went for my post op check up on 9-11 and was down 24 pounds. Now I am down 30, but have hit a stall. It's like my body said "ok, that's enough" lol! My recovery has been very smooth...no pain, sleeping well, went back to work in a week and a half. I am having trouble getting in all my protein. Seems like it takes me forever to get it down. Chewable vitamins are fine. I think I am tried of all the sweet foods...vitamins are berry flavored, shakes are vanilla or chocolate, yogurt is fruit flavored...everything is sweet. I was a salty chip person, so I need to find something else to eat. I may try mashed potatoes?!?! Any other suggestions from anyone??
  10. I am still having trouble getting enough protein in. I will try the Premier shakes.
  11. @Noragretz: I had all those sounds at first. Add gurgling and burping, but it has calmed down or I have just gotten used to it.
  12. Went to my follow-up appointment today. I am down 24 pounds since my sleeve on 9-3. They added soft foods -- scrambled eggs, avocado, mashed potatoes -- I am feeling FaNtAsTiC!! I am still needing to get more protein in, but they said that will come in time.
  13. That is great!! 19 pounds!! I have my post-op appointment tomorrow morning. I am feeling good, but am having trouble getting in the protein. I also meet with the nutritionist tomorrow...maybe she will have some tips.
  14. Today I tried to add the vitamins required after surgery (multi vitamin, B 12, iron, Omega 3, calcium, etc) and today is the first day I have had nausea. I was sleeved 6 days ago and I have felt GrEaT! Until today...tonight I feel like my stomach is just flipping so I am just sipping water trying to get it to settle. Anyone else feel this way?
  15. I was sleeved on September 3 and I am waking up all throughout the night. Not necessarily hungry, I just can't sleep. I have done very well with weight loss, but I just can't sleep. Strange.
  16. I am also on day 3...doing great! Having a hard time getting all the protein and water down, but no pain. How are you feeling?
  17. I was sleeved on 9/3. The only pain I have is around my belly button which is the largest incision. This has been a wonderful experience for me. I was able to get out today and walk around Chinatown. I feel fantastic...just a little weak. I am having a hard time getting all the protein in, but I keep sipping on the shake! Down 14 pounds but this includes the two weeks of liquids prior to surgery.
  18. I had the sleeve with Dr. Hanna on Wednesday, September 4th. I am doing great! I will go back to see him next week. Out of pocket expenses will change for everyone based upon your insurance coverage. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and I have paid $1200.00 for Dr. Hanna, $131.25 for the hospital, I haven't gotten the bill for anesthesia. I was at North Vista Hospital on Lake Mead. The staff there were fantastic!!
  19. Hi! I am Stephanie and I was sleeved on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. I feel great today...it is my first full day home from the hospital. I am getting my water in, but my protein is another story. Every time I drink anything I feel these bubbles and then I burp. Maybe I am drinking too much at a time? My doctor is Bernie Hanna at Las Vegas Bariatrics and I had my surgery at North Vista Hospital. My post-op visit is on Thursday, September 11th.
