eating boullion AGAIN... is this normal to "eat" all the time the first week. I am getting in boullion, Water, sf popsicles and sf Jello. I feel like I am doing it ALL the time!!! Not that I am worried about weight gain, just wondering if anyone else "ate" all the time the week after surgery. I know I am suppose to be getting my water in and I have been so far. :clap2:

i drank a lot the first week and i also drank the terrible boullion. i remember thinking that i was not really starving but i had the habit of eating so often that i was still thinking of food. i also dreamt about steak and mashed potatoes. ha. that will pass. just get your Protein and fluids. dont push it. i had a yogurt smoothie 4 days after my surgery and got so sick . it was horrible. the worse puking i have ever done. i would hate to have anyone else go through that. i dont think about food anymore unless im starving or really hungry. i think the band breaks that addictive eating. of at least it did for me. food was what i did to calm down. i stress out sometimes. food would help me to crash and sleep. i wish you the best and try not to be too hard on yourself. it is so weird at first. so much to get used to. i was so happy about the band. i loved the whole experience. take it easy. cat

Are you getting in Protein? Not that there's anything wrong with lots of boullion, but you might be over-hungry if you're not getting all the protein you need.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
