Momma2vincent hope you get well soon! I was banded a week ago today. At first I had soreness and those awful gas shoulder pains, but now it's gone and I'm feeling much more normal now!

Wishing you luck on your liquids! X

Update...my surgeon called me today and said I'm recovering well from what I've told him. He did say I can start Protein Shakes tomorrow if I feel up to it. Honestly Water is hard to get down at times especially in the morning...don't thnk I'm ready for the shakes yet. I do drink very slow and take about 2 to 5 min between sips. When did u start Protein shakes? Any tips on how to soothe my tummy in the morning to get it ready for somthng thicker!

Try starting your morning with a nice, hot drink. coffee, tea... Whatever turns you on. A lot of people find a hot drink will help loosen up and relax things a little, making it easier for Protein shakes and Water and so on to pass on through.

If you are on full liquids, you should be good to go for protein shakes. :D

Wow, I would like to feel some sort of restriction, (I think). I have not had any issues swallowing, eating Jello and so on. Started a day early with the Soups today. Thinking of hanging a sign around my neck saying dont feed, lap bander in training and hungry.

Hang in there Nolans nana!

I remember the worst part of post surgery was trying not to laugh! I couldn't watch any comedies and had to tell my boyfriend to stop being funny. Oh that really was painful! :)

Yes it does! Wishing this shoulder pain would go away. I'm walking, taking gasx. Still a lot of gas inside me.

Heating pad. Just don't cook yourself. And a bit of Motrin. (Get your surgeon's okay on the Motrin, first. Some are okay with it, some are not.) Those really helped me with my shoulder discomfort. It was the worst part of my post op. Seriously. I LIVED under my heating pad. :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
