Anyone get banded at 190lbs?

Recommended Posts

@@mias76 I did get banded. How i feel about it still don't know. I weight 181-182 depending on the day.. Its been almost 2 months. I've been exercising and eating right, eating whatever i want is what got us in trouble in the first place. Taking it one day at a time I guess.. Hope you are doing better than me.

Hi. I got banded a little over 2 months and I'm at 180 although it's been a slow weightloss I'm really happy with it. Hang in there. I think for people who have less to loose the weightloss is slower

Got my band on Wed.. have had alot of pain. The doctor and clinic were amazing. The doctor also repaired a hernia. I keep having what feels like a spasms that start at my sternum and radiate through my chest.. Can't tell if I am hungry, in pain from surgery or ate too much. Is this common?

I was banded at 205lbs in April 17,2014. Most of my family thinks I'm crazy because I chose the band to loose 75lbs but none of them have had to deal with the weight fluctuations like I have! My insurance covered my surgery with a BMI of 36 because I have a weight related disease. I have lost 30lbs so far and don't regret my band at all. It's the weight loss pace I wanted and I'm glad it's working for me. I lost 90lbs 2 years ago but gained it al back during pregnancy. So more than anything I hope I can keep weight off with the band:)

I was banded on February 18 2014 weighing 196lbs today I'm at 172lbs my weight loss has been slow and still struggling to see if I'm really in the green zone....don't believe so. I have 5 cc in a 11 cc band. Just got to the 5 cc in June so dr. Is giving it time and I go back in sept. To see if I need a another fill. So overall I say it's hard and will probably be at a slower rate since ur starting bmi was lower. Good luck to you I hope you have success!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
