October 24,2014 there will be a "Cruise to Lose" out of Pt Canaveral, FL (Orlando) we have reserved 32 cabins and deposits are now being taken ($250 deposit now) and layaway payments being accepted up until final payment in September. The itinerary includes Curaçao, Aruba and Grand Turk. If interested please PM me. We have plans on having a special guest/personal trainer onboard . Prices on request, up to 4 in a cabin and all this will be on the newly renovated and refurbished ship The Carnival Liberty. Yes, you can cruise and lose!

Once again, PM me if you want to join in the excitement of 8 days of fun, excitement and healthy eating! I look forward to hearing from you soon! Please note: passports are required,

Damn!! We were talking about this on the bandsters 5 thread and I thought it was a great idea. Oh I wish I had more notice...I'd go in a heartbeat. I can't do it this year...I have other commitments but I would absolutely do it next year. Would it be too much to ask if we can make this an annual thing? I would love to meet up with my bariatricpal buds on the high seas.

PM Alex. He and I discussed this as another way of folks meeting each other besides the local support groups. He can do a blast email so everyone on the site sees it. You can also let people know this will be an annual event.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
