1 week post op back to work

Recommended Posts

1 week post op.. I went back to work today, I have a desk job in a dental office. Super busy after being off and getting caught up with insurance and referrals although I did great. I noticed it was hard for me to try to get in my Water being busing. My co workers kept asking me what I did last week on my week off. I just feel like I don't need to share right now or ever..

This is my personal business.

Thats your perogative. But remember one thing... if you keeo it a secret and it gets out then you look like a liar. oh well who cares what they think/./ we all know that your surgery was just a tool so you can fix yourself. You still have to do the work.. if you dont do the work then you can go back the other way.. This is a lifestayle change!! So who cares what others think.. I dont...

Good for you! I went back after two weeks and it went very well... I am a para and have a pretty active job. I was tired after the first few days but did well other than that. I wasn't really planning on telling many people at work, but word got out pretty quickly- gossip spreads like wildfire at my job! It is completely up to you if you wanna tell or not, I totally get not wanting to.

Good for you! Keep it up. I've used a silly little timer to help me sip & sip again. And don't worry about your co-workers right now. Let them know when they ask that you've changed your diet and tell them what it is - and that's not a lie! But just remember, if you tell one person all the details then you should tell them all. Some will be supportive and others won't. Those who won't are the ones who have already been critical and we can let them bother us. Yet have supporters at work will help long-haul for accountability ans encouragement! Keep it up!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
