Does Exercise Help/Hinder Feeling Restricted?

Recommended Posts

Interesting Question Here!

This came up on another post that I had. Does exercising help you to feel more full/restricted? Obviously exercise is great, but does it directly affect the sensation of fullness?

You don't need a P.H.D. to answer!

How has exercise affected you?:fencing:

Its definitely changed the way I eat the rest of the day. I find when I exercise in the AM, I'm more prone to stick to healthy eating the rest of the day. Exercise helps me stay focussed and helps the inches melt off, also makes me feel good on the inside knowing I've done something good for myself.

I find it increases restriction right after a vigorous session but it makes me hungrier over all. I'm the opposite, if I exercise in the am. I tend to go way off track during the day to make up the energy deficit. I tend to exercise late afternoon, or in the evening and then it dampens my appetite for dinner.< /p>

:clap2: Thanks Tonya and Jacqui!:clap2:

It sounds like both of you are opposite! I guess I'd fall somewhere in the middle! If I wake up early and exercise, I do find that I'm more on track for the rest of the day. If I exercise mid day, I've found that I'm more hungry through the day. It's a little goofy how our bodies work day in and day out!

Appreciate the response!!

I am a gym junkie now. . to the extent my personal trainer kicked me out the gym on Thursday night at 8:30pm because she is scared i am going to get burn out.

Since living at the gym i find i eat more and get less problems with blocking and PBing. I can eat a decent amount and can eat a decent amount in about 4 hours time because my body burns the food so much faster, but if i didnt excersice then the second meal would be a lot harder to get through because i would still be full from the first meal. I also find with working out so much i hunt for foods that will give me energy in the gym and sustain my energy because i am on a non liquid calorie diet, so all i drink is Water or green tea, so no coke or sustigen etc. . .

Good luck with ya excersise endevors

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
