Good luck Diana! I'll pray for u. I am just starting my bariatric pathway. After the information seminar today I think I may be visiting the surgeon for a surgery date by the middle of June. The avg. wait after 1st surgeon appointment is 3-5 weeks. Of course that will definitely vary person to person. Best Wishes!

I have 10 days to go, so just getting a little anxious..... I'm sure everything will go fine... Try to get some rest day before since they told me to prepare to be up/walking about after surgery.... Good luck to you :)

Hi Zelda, it really hasn't been bad, I keep wanting to pinch myself. I had minimal pain meds and I only stayed over one night. I also had a hernia repair and scar tissue repair. Don't be scared. Tomorrow I start with shakes and cream Soups so we will see. So far so good.

Hi, my name is Diana. This is my first time on a forum. So please bear with me. Surgery is the 21st. I'm so excited but I'm so nervous!!!! I've followed many of you and seen your videos and blogs. You all have been such great encouragement. So any last do's or donts before or after my big day. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. I'm doing this for my health so I can be the mom my son deserves and the wife my husband deserves. Right now I can't do either, let alone be the person I want to be. So as I said....info? Advice? And above all if you could say a little prayer for me that would be even more appreciated!! Thank you all in advance!!

Diana I'm 10 months post op & 1lb from Dr goal, just remember fluids 64oz per day & 60-80grams of Protein per day for life easily done after healed up in many different ways. Fluid intake counts w/protein shakes as fluid& protein together , keep as log/journal of daily fluid & food intake, even now I still get off track a bit but return to fluids for a few days & continue onward.

Sometimes you need to just put blinders on and say "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead."

To give you the other side, if you are not in a good place mentally before surgery, post surgery will be even more difficult. You MIGHT want to think of postponing until life calms down a bit. Only you and your team can decide what is right for you. This journey takes a great deal of emotional stamina. You have to be ready to deal with the ups and downs. This is why most clinics require seeing a psych. Listen carefully to their recommendations. Best wishes and I hope you will be good to go in three weeks. Life is amazing on the other side!

So sorry to hear you're struggling. We're scheduled for around the same time. It sounds like you're facing so many challenges right now. Pick your battles, decide what you're going to put as priority and do what you need to do.

Wishing you all the best.

Ginger

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
