lifted too much?

So, I had hernia repair with my sleeve. Today is about 12 days out lifted 45 pound son onto swing about 3 times today. Now I have a slight pain so I'm totally freaking out. It's subtle but how do I know if I did something bad????

Probably. What did the doctor tell you that you could lift?

15 pounds now I'm so depressed and worried more than I already was

You should call your doc instead of asking us (I mean, we're smart and everything, but that's what you paid him for)

Will in morning but hoping for someone to know moire tgasn me to say no I didnt lol

I'm thinking if you were told not to lift more then 15lbs, and you lifted 45lbs, at 30lbs over your advice, at 3 x, equals 90lbs ove lifting, at 12 days out. I would question what the pain was, and like someone else said, you really should be calling/going to the doctor/ER. Im not trying to bash you, but they tell you these things for a reason. I mean it's not going to hurt them if you don't listen, you usually hurt yourself, and your loved ones. I hope all goes well, and please listen to your doctor. Good luck, and bless you!

I think you should go to ER TOO.. because you don't wasn't get a leak they are horrible from what I read on this site..

please take care of your self....your family need you to be healthy...good luck ok

I thought maybe a stitch but not a staple that would cause a leak

I am surprised that you doctor even allowed 15 pounds so soon post-op. I had a 5 pound restriction for the first month, and then 10 pounds from that point until now (3 months). My hernia was not big enough to repair. So I am stymied at how liberal your physician was. Because you went way over he limit you were given, I agree that you need to contact your doctor ASAP.

Did you find out what happened. I did the same 1 week postOp and very worried... seeing the doctor in 2 days but wondering what happened to you

You may not realise but this is an old thread (seven years old) and the original poster may not be around any more.

Hopefully you haven't done any damage but are you experiencing any additional pain or discomfort since?

Your doctor will most likely have someone on call. I suggest you Call now.

Your doctor should have someone on call for things like that. If you are still concerned I would call them.

Yes I was experiencing pain in the larger incision area. Still am feeling pain after 4 days that I pushed myself too much. I went to the doctor and he checked me out. He said the abdominal area was really sore and swollen. He said I didn’t open a stitch or anything but to relax for 3 weeks before doing anything more than just walking.
