Blessed Energy! Time to go to work!

I'm really enjoying this extra energy, so much that I started painting on my house. This is something I've wanted to do for 3 years now and never had the energy. Thought I'de share it with you people.

These first pics are of Eves' room I just finished! I ended up using lots of pinks and pastels(very girly) Whimsical butterflies, dragonflies, bumblebees, and puffy clouds. Eve is 7 years old so she can still appreciate "little girl" stuff.

That rainbow took an entire day all by itself!

Mind you I was juggling my family, household, cooking, and cleaning on top of this project. I felt empowered!

I have to admit when this room was done I was ready for it to be done! I'm still working on Davids room. I'll post more when I have more done.

Cute, this board is fair play I guess. Did yall have a good time this weekend at that deserted town?

Lisa Green, girl, you're gonna have to keep up with the posts! We're not going to the Cerbat ruins for 2 more weeks - it's part of the Vegas Bash.

This whole weekend I was in motorcycle school. But I posted Motorcycle School under a separate post if you want to read it. I'm always either in trouble, or getting someone in trouble. Today I had one of the motorcycle teachers suspended because she hurt me.

Thanks for the warning!!

Your gonna kick me but I already read your motorcycle post! I forgot or maybe my brain slipped, something happened. Anyway, whos all going to Vegas, sounds like FUN! Can I go? I fly for free and have buddy passes!

Lisa, of course you can come! Everyone is invited.

Let Penni know your contact info, and when you arrive and where you're going to stay. I think most of us are going to be at the HoJo's on Paradise Rd. Friday night we're having a family style dinner at Buca di Beppo's, Saturday is a BBQ/all day party at DeLarla's, and Sunday some of us are going to Cerbat to look for rocks, minerals and gold, and the others are having a farewell brunch somewhere.

Doesn't that sound like a blast?! Oh, I think some are going out Friday night to terrorize the Bingo players, as well.

:)

I said that in jest. Yall make sure to have enough fun for us all. Post lots of pics and please be careful. I've heard about Vegas (I do watch CSI ya know) hee hee

If I go anywhere it will be with Tom and without kids. It's been long overdue! I'm lookind into a trip to Scottland right now. Theres a nice little bed and Breakfast my friend is stating at for a couple of months and would like to visit while shes there. I'll keep you posted.

Your sweet to welcome me to join yall but I'm saving my pennies and time off for the bigger trip!:)

Those room look great! I cant wait to have my surgery so I can get that extra bust of energy. I have to paint the inside of my house but I'm not going to even get creative just need the extra energy to pull it off! Great job!!!!

Hey guess what? I'm starting on a new room now! I'm preparing our back room for our German foriegn exchange student, Florian, this room is a disaster! We hav'nt painted it since we moved in this house 3 years ago and the people before us allowed thier kids to do anything they wanted to in it. It was the kids play room. You know what that means for older boys...spit wads covering the ceiling! And they're still there!

Anyway, we use it as our storage/junk room right now. This is what it looks like now (I had a yard sale and got rid of some of this stuff) I

I'm inspired and excited to do this room for Florian, both of Florians parents are Dentist and have thier own practice AND Florian is the baby at 16 yrs. old he has 2 older brothers. I hope he is'nt thrown into culture shock when he gets here and lives with my 3 little ones. I almost feel sorry for him already and he's not even here yet.

Well, I made the decision to take Eves room apart and give her a different bed and dresser. She now has a normal "Little Girls Room".

Oh well, Florian can use her old bedroom suit. Alot of people had commented on how Eve was too young to have a bedroom like she did anyway. Doing things this way I don't have to buy any furniture for Florians room. His room will be our guest bedroom after he is gone. So, who want to come spend the night with me?

I found this little dresser for $5.00 at a yard sale this past weekend. Bought it, me and 4 little girls painted it and now WaaLa Eve has a dresser that matches her walls!

The rooms are lovely, you did a great job Lisa. Your friend's comments are more than a smidge catty to say the least, and of course she's talking about it in front of her kids, if the kids are saying it too. Where else would they get the idea? Could she be feeling a bit inadequate? She may be comparing her own child raising skills to your's and falling short. You're doing wonderful things for your children, and giving them a fairytale childhood to the best of your ability. You're doing it out of love, so who among anyone has the right to negate that? If you're happy, and your children are happy, you're doing something right. As for the difference in the boys rooms and the girls room... of course they'll be different... boys don't want no stinkin' plush, they need guy stuff. Go ahead and offer your 6 year old clouds hearts and rainbows so he doesn't feel left out...& watch him run screaming to his dad, that mom has lost her mind! You're children are individual, you're a great mom, so you'll meet their needs and wants individually, that's life. You know... one of those things your catty friend needs...

Thanks for the support Pam, it's nice to have people understand me, I've had to quit being around that particulaf "friend". O well, I'll make new friends, life goes on. I would have never had the guts befire surgery to go ahead and sever a relationship. I'm changing slowly and it's difficult to adjust to the "new me". If I find it difficult I can't imagine what my hubby and friends are thinking!
