    What do you eat??

I can do half a piece of toast...sometimes...lol....but scrambled eggs are a major no no for me as well....however an over-medium egg is sometimes tolerable and soooo yummy!

    early morning...or evening

I prefer afternoons, usually between 6 and 8....that way its not so hot and I still have time to chill out before bed... Oh yeah, and I don't do anything quickly in the morning...takes me till noon to get anything done for my groggy butt :rolleyes2:
  5. Ok so let me give you a little background and explanation. I was banded in Sept. 04. I did great and lost 100+ pounds and was still losing steadily for about 2 years. Then I got a really bad bug and had to be unfilled completely. My doctor wanted to make sure all was well and I was unfilled for right at a year. So I'm just now back on the bandwagon and trying to do this right again. It's amazing how much your body changes as you get older and the weight isn't coming off as easily as last time. So the question I'm posing is: Is it the calories I need to watch a day? I know I need at least 60 to 65 grams of Protein a day, which I'm getting thanks to powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, which I love!!! I have also been using this wonderful website food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate which you put in your height, weight, how much you want to loose a week, etc. and it tells you how many calories you can have a day. Then you put in your exercise and lifestyle, which I really like and then you just track yourself. But what I want to know is should the calories be what I'm watching more so than anything else or do you think I should be keeping a closer eye on something else? Any help would be great..I'm doing great with the calories and all that, protein, Vitamins, and around 48 to 64 ounces of Water a day, thanks to Crystal light, but the carbs concern me...they are super easy for me to eat (I'm a potato addict)..so I'm trying to stay away from them but you know, apparently I'm still having lots of carbs... I know I'm rambling, sorry :scared2: Let me know what you all think!

So I need a refresher guys!

Thanks so much for the refresher, you guys are the best! Now the 40 minutes of cardio 4x a week might kill me right now but I am walking every other day or so for 45 mins to an hour, I need to start slower and build myself up...341.5 pounds doesn't love cardio or move so swiftly and especially not hard cardio and weights right off the bat...but I am getting my butt moving which I figure is where I start! Part of my problem is a couple of years ago I was younger and the weight just came off by itself and I didn't have to do much...well that's definitely not the case now <bummer>! Ok question? I thought if you burned more than you took in that your body went into starvation mode and that made it harder to loose? Thanks again for all your help guys!!!! I CAN DO THIS!!!!

So I need a refresher guys!

I loooovveee Unjury! It's my Breakfast every morning since I'm not a morning eater! I love the vanilla mixed into some skim milk or soy milk, it tastes like a vanilla milkshake that's actually good for you! I just take a cup of skim milk and dump a scoop (the scooper comes in the container, or one packet if your getting the sample packs) and just stir it up and away you go! Unjury also has super high Protein (21 grams per little packet) chicken Soup, it's just healthy stock pretty much, but if your especially tight one day it's a great alternative! I think a lot of people mix their unjury with water, but I just can't do it. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the plain, it's ok, just not as good as the vanilla, and the chocolate is good, just a bit odd....so I stick with my standby and I'm good to go!

Corn syrup and High Fructose Corn Syrup?

You know Ginger that's a big one for me too! I love ketchup, and I haven't yet found a replacement...if you find something let me know!
  9. Katie328

How soon after can i drink?

I wasn't given a specific amount of time to wait...that I can remember anyway...but I'd say I didn't have any wine or anything for a couple of months...I'm thinking a martini isn't gonna hurt you, but I suppose it'd be best to check with your Doctor just in case they have specific rules and I was a bad girl =)
  10. Ok you guys have me freaking out!!!!! 800 calories a day?!?!?! I've been tracking my eating and calories and all that, and I eat anywhere from 1200 to 2200 calories a day!!! and that's supposedly my range to let me loose 3 pounds a week!!!! What the heck is going on? I'm pretty tight, but maybe my calorie intake is so much higher because I have so much to loose? I' weighed 341.5 last Thursday at my Dr.'s office and thedailyplate.com is telling me that to loose 3 pounds a week I can have 2,179 a day..... I never eat that much, unless I go out and splurge or something...oh man, I'm totally worried....I feel so much better than I did a week ago, have been doing great and this fill has been marvelous....but now I'm kinda freaked out and confused!!!!:eek::confused::eek:
  11. HAHHA That's right!!! Me too!!! If there is one thing I love on the Earth it's a Oreo Cookie Blizzard...wow....so not worth it!!!!!!! Thanks for the info!!! Talk about an eye opener!!!

    Sushi Post-band

Yes fish is awesome for you but just remember, it's so individualized. Just be careful your first time....and good luck with it! If you ever come to KY we'll go have ourselves a Playboy roll!! It has eel and is soooo yummy!!! Let us know how it goes!!! 13 days, you must be sooo excited!!
  14. Katie328

    Sigh...I can't stay on track!

You can do this sweetie. I'm kind of in the same position as you. I had done great for two years, then I got a bad bug and my dr. unfilled me completely and I was that way for a year. That's when the weight came back 100%. I was soooo depressed too, but you know what. I had to let that go. I had to or I would have eaten myself into oblivion and killed myself! So I am starting over, and I'm trying to be uber positive and telling myself I can do it! Some days are very hard, but you know what, if you have a bad day with it, so what?! Just start over the next day again. Let that one go to and just keep truckin'! You can do this my dear!!!! Let's do it together!!!!!!!!!!

    Corn on the Cob?

Corn is a major no no for me! Just as most anything with any sort of skin...grapes, tomatoes, things like that...but as everyone else said, totally trail and error!
  16. Katie328

    Sushi Post-band

I love sushi! Rice is a major problem for me though. So I just stick with the sashimi and a little bit of soy sauce and I'm good to go! Although I can probably get by with one California roll, but more rice than that, and boy do I pay! Mmm...now I want Sushi for lunch
  17. Katie328

When did you start gaining weight

Well, I just turned 27 and I'm short, about 5'4 and have been fat my whole life =) Well that's not true, I was tall in elementary school, grew 6 inches in nine months... You know what's funny? How fat you think you are and how you don't think it can get any worse, then you graduate college/high school and WISH you could go back to how fat you THOUGHT you were in high school. =)

Exercise and tightness of the band

Wow you haven't had your initial fill and you have lots of restriction? Wow I never did...u lucky dog, you
  19. Katie328

Exercise and tightness of the band

I am one of those lucky people who are pretty tight in the morning but my evening I have loosened up a bit. I have found when I exercise I seem to almost forget about my band and want to chug Water and of course that's a no no, but as long as I use my brain and drink slow enough not to burst my poor band than I can stay hydrated quite well. In my opinion, and take this for what it's worth, I do feel as if I'm tighter when i exercise. I don't know if it's because your huffing and puffing and it puts a strain of some sort on the band, but I do feel as if I'm tighter. It isn't a permanent thing, it's only for maybe an hour, then the band is back to normal... Hope this helps in some way...

Hardest behavior for you to change?

I second with DeLarla! I'm great during the day but come 7 or 8 p.m. I want to snack and I want crappy food...ice cream and hershey's...I know bad Katie....so i guess I'm still working on breaking the habit...

    NSV Photo Thread

Sorry but she's right, no one can top that But you do give us something to shoot for! By the way, it's been awhile since I've seen you and you look FANTABULOUS!!!!! Congrats sweetie you deserve it!
  22. Katie328

It’s small, but my first NSV

Angel, That is absolutely a NSV!! I understand where you're coming from and you should be quite pleased! Think of it this way, all that food is not inside you, working against you, it's in the garbage working for you (in a wierd way but I think you know what I mean!) You're doing great, keep it up!! Katie
  23. I don't know but it freaks me out! I hope that i'm not part of that 25%!!!! Time to go get the butt on the treadmill!! :clap2:
  24. Katie328

I cant get control of myself

Wow guys, got room for one more on the stalled out bandwagon? I am in the same position. It freaks me out to think that 80 pounds is all I'll loose. On the other hand, I'm exhausted all the time so I know I need to get my butt back in gear too. I think I've learned to eat things that are easy and won't make me pb or anything like that. So i'm in the same boat with you whynot!!!
  25. Hey there! I don't know if anyone remembers me, I have been a bad girl and have been absent for quite awhile. My name is Katie, I'm from KY and I was 'banded' 9/21/04. So far I'm about 75 pounds down (hence the new profile pic and avatar.) I feel great but I'm at a stalemate. I have been excercising and I'm hoping that will kick things back into gear. I just wanted to say hello again!!
