I have a long list of things I WANT to do when I loose weight. Things I've done when I was thinner or younger..which is about the same time. Since I've been over weight since I was 9.

I want to go swimming and not have to hide under a T-shirt.

Ride in amusement rides with my grandsons.

Walk for long distances without getting out of breath or my knees hurting.

I have many more to list but I'll let you all take it from here.

What have you accomplished or want to accomplish?:clap2:

One of my favorite topics!

I can walk long distances without hurting as much. I have some tendon problems in my ankles, undoubtedly from too many years of too much weight. But the improvement is remarkable!

I can bend over and pick up stuff without thinking I'm going to pass out!

I can fit comfortably in an airline seat, and buckle the seatbelt!

That goes for amusement park rides, too!

My blood work levels are all in the "optimal" range...and that's going from levels that were once alarming and dangerous and indicated future heart problems. For example, I had trigylceride levels over 500, and now they are 128.

My list is soooooo long...and I know everyone who has lost a good deal of weight has lists like this! It doesn't happen overnight, but it will happen!

Thanks!

There are sooo many inspirations around here! I hope some more of them see your post and write in response!

You remind me of those early days, waiting on my surgery...my BMI was 45. I think it's now 34 or something....maybe less. I'm still officially overweight, but I've gone from a size 26 to a size 16 (sometimes 18, you know how it is!). I couldn't even imagine going below the 20s in size! but, here I am, doing just that....and I'm still losing.

It's slow, but it's worth it!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
