Happy Tears in dressing room: Size 22/24 -->16!

Recommended Posts

keep those size 20 jeans to remind yourself how far you have come.

i regret the fact that i didn't save one article of old clothing

couple of months post goal............

i went into Kohl's and reached for the 2X elastic blue jeans that i used to wear daily

i put them on over my jeans

i just stared at myself - almost crying, but for a different reason

i was sad/upset how i looked - and what others used to have to look at!!!! :(

for a few minutes - i was in a world of my own with many thoughts of my "past life"

i put my size 6 blue jeans back on and looked at the new me

i think its ok/good to remember where you/me were

so you/me are reminded we never want to go back there :(

I did buy the 2X jeans - and the new pair of pants are hanging to remind me of the OLD me

Dr. Patient, I am reading your posts laughing out loud. I have a couple of storage bins with size 12-16 clothes, what a waste of perfectly good storage! There is nothing in those two bins that I would want to wear now. Don't get me wrong, they are good clothes, but SO early 90s! Very Gloria Estefan! LOL.

I too went from a 22/24 to a 16. It is AMAZING to be out of the plus size section of department stores. Yesterday I went shopping and got a couple of items from Vineyard Vines, Ann Taylor, The North Face, Anne Fontaine....okay, maybe it wasn't just a couple of items, imagine when I am a size 10! Woooohooo! My poor wallet.

Congratulations, you deserve it!!!!!!

What is Chico's and why is their 3 a 16?

Good for you! I love that your friend and the sales lady were so supportive of you!

DrPatient, I had the same issue last week with old suits. A size 16 designer suit.at the back of my closet has been calling wistfully to me for 20 years. Guess what - it fits perfectly now! Guess what else - it looks ridiculous! Into the bin with the size 20's!

So funny! I too have some older clothingi n smaller sizes. I refused to toss it out- my husband tells me I'll look ridiculous if I wore any of that clothing- to enjoy newer fashion and let go of the old.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
