I'm 20 years old 2 weeks out of my surgery. I have really bad nausea and I regret having the surgery but I mostly think this way when I'm feeling the nausea. :/

I'm sorry to hear about your nausea & regrets. Hopefully, your Dr gave you anti-nausea meds that can help you feel better.

You may want to ask your Dr's office about why you're experiencing this. Is it something you're eating that isn't sitting well, are you getting any Protein in (at this stage, it might be way too early to get your Protein requirements), are you getting enough fluids (are you sipping or perhaps swallowing too quickly).... ?

These are all possible questions, but the only one who can really help you is your surgeon. Please don't have any regrets until you know what's going on. Typically, things really do get better. It's a lifestyle change & it definitely takes some getting used to. I'm 5 weeks post-op & am feeling things out food-wise. Each day is a new adventure on what I can eat or how much.

Hang in there & talk to your Dr's office. It'll get better ;-)

Ask your dr for anti nausea meds. I ask for anti meds prior to surgery and was never nauseated. The 'first four week after surgery is challenging, .however', just be patient and this too shall pass :)

Don't get discouraged and don't think that way. It's still too soon. Are you getting nauseous after you eat? Is it random?

If it's after you eat, if helps if you inhale and exhale not too deep but just normal. Try to relax and just sip on your liquids. Don't use a straw!!!!! Through the straw you suck a lot of air through your mouth to your stomach so that can also cause nausea.

I promise it'll get better and you'll love that you decided to get it done....!

I do suggest that if the nausea continues, you let your doctor know. Not sure how much weight you've lost but it can also be your gallbladder giving you problems because of rapid weight loss. Keep an eye on that. Especially if you begin to get pain after you eat.

Don't stress!! Enjoy the new you!! :)

Thanks everytone. I'm on stage 2 . Tomorrow I was suppose to start soft foods. But I think I wont be. I'm just nauseating period. I can't drink anything but mint tea.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
