What foods are highest in protein?

Recommended Posts

I'm not getting my Protein in and looking for suggestions as to the foods that are higher in protein. I just started tracking my foods on MyFitnessPal so I am seeing what I've been getting in. I may take 1 Protein Shake a day to help

Thanks for the replies. The website is very helpful to put it all together and put it in perspective. Shrimp is out as I have a shellfish allergy. I am incorporating the cheese. Anybody using Protein Powder in their foods? I don't have a clue on that.

eggs are great too! 6g of Protein per egg and they are soft so it's easy on our sleeves. Best of luck!

I mix 1 single serve pouch of tuna with 1/4 C .2% cottage cheese and 1 T. of regular mayo for 2 servings. 1 serving has 83 cal., 2g carbs, 3g. fat, 1 Fiber, and 13 Protein. I often eat this for lunch with 1/4 of an avocado.

Soup is an exception to the rule...just like the i before e except after c rule...there are lots of words that fall into this category..like: financier, glacier

Same with Soup it is one of the things that you can eat anyway. it still has the same influence on your system as drinking Water with your meal but it has nutritional value through the liquid. It will not stay in your system as long as dense Protein but it is good to have some anyway....Not every day...but a good bowl of well made soup is still healthy for you....

I also drink the milk when I have my Cereal every morning....There are things you just can't get away from.....

tuna, Fish, eggs, Corned Beef and Hash, shakes obviously, peanuts (don't have them everyday). Tuna is my big one, they make so many different ones and different kinds it just doesn't get boring and very, very high in Protein.< /p>

Interesting, I'll have to try that. I have never had tuna mixed with cottage cheese. :)

Thanks, this is a good one too. Seems like a lot of Protein for a small amount of food. I think I can try that. :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
