It can be used to supplement an otherwise-normal diet, or by a person who intends to gain weight, but that's not its only use. If you use it to make Protein shakes and you adhere to the rules set by your nutritionist and your surgeon, it will help you lose weight.

i drink a whey protein shake nearly every day

to gain weight, we must simply eat more calories then we burn off....

hope my answer helps some

Ditto. Whey protein is a great way to get your protein in.

Whey protein is a great way to get your protein in. I am allergic to soy and that also leads to problems with estrogen over load or shut down. So for me whey protein is an amazing choice to use for weight loss.

whey is the most common protein for sleevers. whey isolate is an excellent source and highly recommended by bariatric clinics.

I took whey Protein before surgery (lost 15 lbs while drinking it twice a day) and I drink it every morning now. I'm 20lbs down since surgery three weeks ago. It works great for my protein intake.
