Anyone being banded in March?

Recommended Posts

I finally got my date for March 19. I'm so motivated and committed to this change, but as the date is approaching my nerves and my anxiety are killing me. I am looking for support right now.

I finally received my date - March 10th. I started this journey in August of last year and I have finally made it through insurance approval, dietician appt and psych eval. I've read as much as I can and I'm so excited. I don't have any nerves at this time but I think that is simply because I worked in surgery and I know exactly what to expect. Congrats on your date maybe we can support each other through this.

I'm planning to have it done March 7th. Just have to commit as this point. I'm ready to end the yoyo dieting and all the up and downs that go with it. I'm looking forward to having the band help me stay on track and not only lose the weight but keep it off.

I've been thinking why am I so nervous about something I've been waiting for so long. I think I'm afraid to fail, not been successful. I've done so many diets, exercises, etc. I've lost a lot of weight just to gain it all back and even more. I'm afraid I will lose all the weight and gain it all back. My surgeon is very patient with me and tells me the band will be the tool that will remind me how to keep those pounds off. I'm 120 pounds overweight. A lot, isn't it?

Magician I think it's completely normal to be scared. This is a big step, but you have your mind in the right place. You have thought long and hard about this decision. Your ready to make changes in your life. I'm ready to embrace a healthy new me and start living life again. You can do this!! Don't even think of failing, think of how wonderful it will be to see the pounds coming off, having more energy, gaining confidence and self esteem. Have faith in yourself - you can and will be successful :)

My date is March 5th. Started researching end of August. Got very compulsive and went thru all the red tape and got approved very quickly. Had surgery date in November but wasn't ready...mainly because I didn't want to spend the holidays and the dead of winter without my "drug". So...made this new date for March 5 so by the time I have surgery I'm going into Spring (NY) and don't feel like crawling into bed when it gets dark...find myself eating ANYTHING I want now...trying to use a 30 second Timer every so often just to c what it feels like to chew slowly. But then I say "screw it...I have 3 more weeks to eat so just enjoy it. Find myself thinking stuff like "Soon I won't be able to EVER have a BIG bowl of Pasta again" and on and on. I hear stories of the small amounts u can eat down the line and wonder if I can do it. Don't like to throw up so will most likely stick to the rules. But then find myself thinking "Well I can still have SOME chocolate at night....down the road.....if I want to... Or.....if I'm feeling desperate I can always have a milkshake." On some level if it takes me a few extra months to lose the weight I feel like I need to know I can still have some comfort food In smaller amounts if I want to. Feels good to say what's really on my mind:) anyone else have any of these feelings?

Oh I just saw this after I made a topic about March Bandsters! I didn't mean to duplicate topics. I am not sure how to delete my new one. I am just so darn excited to be banded! I am glad there are others in the same month! YAY us!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
