Good luck on the 24th. My band removal / sleeve revision will be this Thursday. I hope to blog about it before & right after. Goal is to help with my recovery & help others as they go through this journey as well.

Hi friends, I met the doc and my surgery is on 24th jan...He said 99.9 % he will do the revision from band to sleeve at one time.

I also met two patients who had the sleeve..both recovered very fast...but liquids were very important in the first stage.

So now I am confident of the operation...and I am going to try my best .....

wish me luck.

Dominick hope you are doing well!!

I wish I could explain the difference I have without the band! I am so happy it's out.

I can feel a difference even with the sips that we have take.

I'm 9 days out and very excited about the future.

Good luck tomorrow Dominki!

I am having the sleeve on 2/13. I was banded in 2009 and had it removed in 2013. My surgeon recommended the sleeve back when he removed my band but I just wasn't ready. I am glad he didn't push me and let me come to the decision on my own. Good luck on Friday! Please let us know how you do.

Band to sleeve revisions in one surgery are quite common and very successful. Trust your surgeons final decision .. They know what's best for the patient. If by chance they decide not to do your sleeve it's for a very good reason... Your safety.

hi bella, I was so worried about weakness....but surprisingly I am fine...today is the 6th day...moving around...walking,..having fluids...sleep is a problem...i guess body is in shock...but I keep the music on...

I went to office twice yesterday for some time.

i live in India...we have domestic help here...so things are easy...and I have made up my mind to be strong anf fit soon.

I took motivation from my cousin who had blood cancer....she had so many chemos...now her tests are normal.a brave girl much younger than me.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
