Would love Support in Denver!

Recommended Posts

Hi SparkleCat,

How did your surgery go?

I am also in Denver (littleton/centennial border) and would love to get together with other people who have had bariatric surgery.

Most of you on this board have the sleeve it looks like. I got the lap band in 2008 when I was 265lbs. I am now at 145lbs and I love my lap band.

PS

I have Kaiser Insurance and my surgeon was Dr. Husain. She was great!

Just hit 4 months post op & doing really well. I am a 36 year old Momma of 2 munchkins & so ready for this life long monkey to be off my back.

Count me in on meeting up, supporting each other & enjoying this next phase of life being healthier, happier and slimmer.

Congrats on your success! That's awesome! I have a friend who got the lap band and absolutley loves it as well.

My surgery went really well...no complications, no nausea, I was back at work in a week. So far I have lost 24.5 lbs from my high weight and 13.5 since surgery.

So excited to experience Summer in Colorado in a smaller size :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
