The saga continues

Well, for those who have been following my extremely unique WLS journey. The new and incredibly painful event happened 2 days ago...I turned over in bed and dislocated 3 ribs...Not only dislocated them but twisted them, and tore the tissue between them...

Now apparently this happens to people sometimes who have not been able to exercise or move normal for a long time..Hence me in a hospital bed for 5 months and 3 months that followed with limited movement....

So they said it was just a matter of time before it could, may, quite possibly happened to me....

WELL....goody for me!!!!!!!!!!!!

The pain is incredibly awful and the only med I am allowed to take is Tylenol...regular strength because of the pain killer addiction in the hospital....Now 3 days into this part of my recovery journey I am so sore I cannot sit, stand, lay down or walk with out screaming in agony.....

Too much fun this journey....Well at least the weight is still coming off....lol

I have to go for a week every day to the Chiropractor to make sure they stay in place..

Can't wait to see what will unfold next......Dam! And not the kind that holds Water either.....

No..But it helps me know that there are people out there who understand and take the time to let you know they care....

  • Your pain and perseverance through it all shows what kind of mentally tough person you are. Your story and journey scares and inspires me. I can only hope if I am tested like you that I can measure up

Wow RJ....so so sorry. I have nothing helpful to offer...other than well wishes and all the good vibes I can muster. I hope things turn around for you very soon.

Girl, you need to be studied by a team of scientists!

Your story inspires me to get off my ass (like I have been saying for over two months now) and get to a gym. Stay strong, friend. My thoughts and well wishes are coming your way today.

LOL...A team of Scientists...They would probably dissect me or something...I did this for the very reason to help you get off your ass!!! lol

Your too much

RJ,

I feel for you. Nothing hurts like ribs. I've been through it from getting busted up in hockey a couple times. I remember it being winter and having a cough. I thought I was in hell. (If you don't have strong cough medicine... GET SOME-you can count it towards your liquids =D)

I hope you can find a comfortable position to give you some peace to sleep.

All my best,

Jay

I'm so sorry to hear about this latest challenge. I'm pretty much in awe of you RJ, both for everything you have had to overcome and for the graciousness & strength you demonstrate here every day. I'm sending good vibes your way!

Thank you very much...I really don't know what to say...it is so sweet of you to say this to me....Very kind indeed!!

RJ, just come across this thread - I can't believe what's happened to you! But, as ever, you have kept your humour and sense of perspective while you must be in agony. Hope the pain diminishes soon and that the universe takes a look at itself and says enough for you for now....

I would send you a big hug but I'd better not squeeze you too hard :-)
