Finally in Onederland!

Recommended Posts

Woo Hoo! Finally made it to onederland after gastric bypass surgery on 9/25. I lost 20 pounds on my lovely (NOT) pre-op diet, and another 30 in the three months since surgery. I'm thinking I'm a pretty slow loser, but I'll take it. I'm almost halfway to goal! This is the first time I've been in onederland for decades. This website has been a Godsend, and I so appreciate all the support I've received here. HUGS and good luck to you all!

I so look forward to that onederland one day. Now I am a tall girl - so my actual goal is 170 - I figure once I get to onederland I am almost there right? Right now I am just oh so glad to have gotten below the big 300 mark. It is terrible to watch a football game and realize your stats would make you a prime defensive lineman!

You will make it sooner than you think. 170 is coming soon!

Good for all of you! Getting below 200 lbs feels amazing. In my mind, that was a real turning point for me.. Surgery was 4/29/13... Hw 297 cw 182..slowing down, but hopefully I'm not done losing.

Hi, Patty, It's been 13 years since I had my surgery, the good news is, after not losing 1 pound in a one month checkup, I've lost a total of 125 lbs and I have kept it off for all these years , except for awhile I got lazy, and I gained back 50 lbs and then I got mad at myself and decided to see Dr. Baker to see if he could perform another surgery but he couldn't because I have medicaid and they pay for the first surgery but not the second. Dr. Baker checked through the scope to see if my opening was bigger and he said no it wasn't so I decided to lose the weight on my own, I'm down 75 lbs since I decided 13 years after my surgery to lose the weight on my own. It was only hard the first couple of days then it became much easier until finally , my friends, and family were telling me to stop, I lost enough. Anyway, I'm not stopping until I get to 140lbs. I have 15 lbs to go. I weighed 278 lbs to start with and now i wiegh 155 lbs. Thank God for bariatric surgery!!!!! Don't worry it will keep coming off no matter what. Although they say you can eat sweets , don't.Thats what I ate until I gained 50 lbs of fat!!I lost the last 75 lbs, with the help of Gardinia Cambogia. It really curbs your appetitite and stops the cravings you have. It works.

Wow Patty!! I can relate... I had surgery March, 2013... Lost a total of 173 lbs and reached Onderland in October,2013... My lowest weight was 193.. and since Thanksgiving I have been indulging in sweets and carbs.... I have gained some pounds about 8..... I feel so crappy.... I am about to start a 2 week liquid diet to detox.... Has anyone else gained since surgery so soon?

Hi, HW 267, SW 250 CW 237...Surgery 11/25

I dropped weight daily post op but have been 235-237 for over a week. I am having trouble getting the number of Proteins in....is this why the weight is hovering? I am open for any and all suggestions.

Hi Jayne, That could be the reason your weight loss has stalled. It's really important to get your Protein requirements and liquids in. I know it can be difficult but the best way to guarantee success is get protein in and Water intact. I struggled also the first several weeks after surgery. You can do it:). I'm eight months post op today and have loss 98 pounds! Also remember there will be weeks when the scale doesn't move, just follow your doctors plan and it will eventually move again. You can do it!

Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
