Any Goal Weight Twins? 65Lbs To Lose, How Long Did It Take You?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

So, i guess this is the best place to post this question. I am currently 97kg and want to get down to 67kg. So, with 66lbs to get rid of and the surgery expected to take place early January, I am hoping by July 2014 that this will all be gone or I will be very close to goal. Question is, how long did it take you?? I know everyones journey is different and each body reacts in a different way; however with a 30kg journey ahead of me, I am really curious to know on average how long you think it will take to reach my goal weight?! The fact it is coming off, is a good enough blessing but would be awesome to know how long it took some of you? I am looking forward so much to writing my before + after post!

Thanks!

no answer to your question....a lot is based on persons weight to lose (heavier people can lose more faster/quicker)

and it also boils down to a persons compliance (eating/exercising).......its not a race and if you say i want to lose this amount by this time and you dont, you may be disappointed.....but hey, you can do whatever you set your mind to..it is doable........so if you want it, do it.............wishing you all the best .........happy holidays

I was 98 kg, banded 29 October 2013, with 2 pre op high Protein diet. As of today, 8 December, I've lost 12 kilos. I have 3cc fill from surgery. First postop fill tomorrow which surgeon says will most likely be to 5cc.

I've had a few fluctuations lately.

Had lost almost 14 at one stage.

Eating 800-1200 cals a day.

Hope this helps.

Unless you're a marathon runner or super athlete, it's nearly impossible to lose more than 10 lbs of fat per month. Most lose around 4-8 lbs per month. There are exceptions though.

I lost 50 lbs the first 7 months.

Restriction doesnot begin right out of surgery.

Once the swelling and irritation subsides the hunger returns & u'll be able to eat anything just as before the band.

Expect 3-6 months of adjustments. Adjustments will get u to the restriction necessary to see the scale move.

Any loss during your journey to finding the "green zone" will depend upon your own dieting and exercise routine.

So in the end your weightloss begins w/your very own discipline until your bands Fluid have been increased enough to cause you to eat less and feel fuller longer.

If it isnt too late, I'd say get the sleeve, restriction begins right outta surgery & this will save you 3-6 months if time is your greatest issue.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

I completely appreciate its not a race and takes time to really get to where you need to be. The reason I asked was purely just to see how others whom started from a similar position lost their weight and where they are at post-op. Not sure about a sleeve it feels far more drastic and I like that the band is adjustable.

If you could have a crystal ball to see what it would be like that would be amazing haha. In the mean time, I guess I can only ask how others have done on their journey.

Thanks though :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
