Anyone?!? My surgery is Jan 6th and looking for others

So far I'm ok I'm not feeling nervous or scared but in a few more hours I'll probably be freaking out lol

I had mine at 9:15 this morning! It went very well! Pain level is at a 6 out of 10. Not bad. I cant walk yet or drink and eat for the next 3 days.

I feel so much better now. My pain is under control which is great! I had my upper GI this morning and no leak I am now on full fluids! Again not expecting that I thought it was clear fluids. Apparently they changed it recently. I just managed my first solo walk. The staff here is so great. My nut came in this morning she answered all my questions and I had tonnes.

Tomorrow my bandages are coming off and I will get to have a shower!

My biggest challenge is to eat and drink slowly! Gotta work on that!

I have been really lucky in my adventure. Sunday when I flew out it was just me and 2 pilots on the charter flight. Then I was given a private room!

Surgery went well. Took longer than expected. Had a leak test today and passed now in on clear liquids. The pain is about a 5 and so is my dizziness. I can use the bathroom on my own and walk. But I drain all over the place.

Had surgery yesterday around 7am, all went well. No hernia found, Only have one painful spot and that on the left hand side, was expecting this as Dr, said this was going to be the sore spot. had to mess around with pain med's since can't take Tylenol or Vicodin, so he has me on something different, not sure what it is, as I am still out in my happy place. Just got home, was going to stay another day but the hospital had an out break of flue, so he sent me home. So far no dumping systems happening, Will update more tomorrow when I am more with it.

Ugggg I almost dropped the ball, thought my pre op meeting & testing was Thursday it's actually tomorrow glad my wife asked me why we I had 2 different days wrote down. Surgery Tuesday , hernia, gall bladder & bypass. It's almost here & I'm a bag of nerves.

Thank goodness you caught it. I'm a bag of nerves too!!!! I can't believe it's almost here. I'm thinking Monday is prep day to drink that gross stuff so I have the weekend and that's it. It's scary and exciting. I was watching the biggest loser last night ( I've never seen it before) and at one point I just sat and thought how we put so much value on being thin. It's like one is not valid as a person or worthy unless they are thin. Sometimes I feel like I'm buying into that. Oh well. I'm doing it.

Hello everyone. Thank you for the well wishes. I am home. I had to stay an extra night, we got a lot of snow. I am in a lot of pain, the meds at hospital are much better. I'm very nauseous. Doctor doesn't want me on more meds so I'm stuck. Here is the kicker, I'm still starving !! Hoping it gets better.

KCamp congrats on your surgery. Glad to hear your home. I am concerned to hear you are in pain and still hungry. My surgery is on Tuesday so I can't respond but I sure hope someone can help with that. I hope your feeling better soon.

Hey KCamp welcome back! Glad to hear it went well! I too can easily eat more then the 1/2 cup I should only be eating! I am really going to have to rely on measurements and stuck to only eating that portion at a time. I also need to work on taking my time I can have my soup finished in under 10 min .

Sure hope you get your pain under control soon!
