    How about some NSVs!?!?

This has been the best NSV for me, up until now he's never sat with me, I am now his buddy.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

None Scale Victory, meaning being able to get into smaller clothes, doing things that would take twice as long before, going for long walks without getting out of breath, taking the stairs two steps at a time. Those kind of things and more.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Decided it was time to clean out the closet, all my clothes had started to drown me and I was putting off replacing items for as long as I could. Well now I'm within 38 lb of my goal weight I decided it was time to shop. OMG I am now in a PXL and some of the tops I bought were a Large. I've not been able to wear these size's since I was a teen. My hubby has also lost 85 lb and we had to replace his clothes to, he's gone from a 44 to a 32/34 waist and a 3XLT to a M to L top. I am currently wearing a size 10 Jean haven't done this since I was 18. We took 15 bags of clothes to the good will store as every item we had was way to big.
  4. So I only have 40 lb to get to my goal weight, but the last 2/3 weeks hardly any weight loss. No more then a pound or two, then it comes back on again. I'm walking around 3 miles a day, but its limited to a mid level pace as my hip has been giving me issue since the beginning of weight loss. Does anyone have any good ideas as to how I can get rid of these last 40 pound. Its driving me crazy not seeing the scales move.

    40LB to go and stuck

So went back to writing down the amount of calories I am eating, also noted I was taking it a little more carbs than I should of, so back to keeping myself under 900 calories, since this is what the NUT has me on. I am hoping I'll start losing again.
  6. Has anyone else had kidney issues since there surgery, I'm 7 mouths out down 52lb have 48 to go, but these last two weeks have had pain in my mid back around the kidney area. So much so that it stops me doing what I am doing. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

    Kidney issues

Pretty sure, this is more to the right hand side just below the rib cage, its been going on for about a week now, back itself feels fine, and I've lived with years of back issue to know this is different, going to try and hold out till my doctors appointment on the 28th, if I can but if not I'll properly go to a walk in clinic.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I am over them moon, I have gone from a size 22 to a size 12 in less then 5 months, I never ever thought this was possible, I'm still 50lb from my first goal.
  9. So the last four weeks, I've woken up with a sore right hip, today I've notice the left hip is also hurting, I'm 28lb down and not had hip issues before. Anyone got any ideas why or have advice how to deal with it.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Surgery Jan 20th, leaned forward in the car to pick something of the floor, (it was a shock to me) not been able to do that in 10+ years.
  11. So as January 20th, I've lost about 28lb, seems I am a slow loser. But as of the last week or so I have had a headache every day plus the feeling of nausea on and off during the day. I am eating my 60+ grams of protein and drinking 58/64 oz of fluid but still can't shift the headache's or sick feeling. I put it down to being hungry, yet with eating and getting in my 20+grams of protein each meal I am not sure its that. Does or did anyone else feel like this.?
  12. So I am in early gastric bypass phase, I E only 2 months out, My questions are first as time goes on can you ever drink with a meal or is this something that will always be drink before you eat and wait an hour after eating. Secondly will breads, Pasta, rice and potatoes something we will never be able to eat again or will I be able to eat them in a year or so times. Any feedback would be welcome.

    A Couple of questions.

I was referring to when we had met our goal weights not while losing weight, I know we must not drink while eating currently, But I know at least 6 past gastric patients (now 3-6years)patients, that have met their goal weights and they all drink with their meals and some of them have breads and rice's. My doctor also pointed out we can drink right up till we eat because this cause's us to feel fuller, therefore making over eating near impossible. I also never drink for at least 45/60 minutes after a meal. I was just wondering if any past op folks have been able to do this.
  14. Finally getting on to normal foods again, been eating eggs and Cream of Wheat for a while and have been wondering what other cereal I could try. I use to do the Dannon Lite and fit yogurt with a 1/4 cup of Kashi go lean cereal, was wondering if that's some thing that can be tried after surgery?

3 months RNY post-op eating challenged????

Are you having issue eating them or you just have no desire to eat? I am just starting back on solids and nothing is appealing to me, I'm having to force myself to eat, once or twice I've had a desire for something but once I've got the food in front of me, I don't really want it. My husband had the sleeve done and he has had none of these issues. I wish I could offer advice but I think I am in the same place as you at the moment.
  16. I try to avoid counting them towards fluid, though sometimes I've added them because, drinking has been a major issue since surgery, I use to be able to drink 88oz of water daily, sadly since surgery my stomach doesn't like water, it sends it into spasms, I've been able to drink milk, coffee and V8 diet splash ok. I've tried adding crystal lite to water but it doesn't help with the spasms.

    Flex Spending for protein shakes

So this is the information I found, though from reading other forums I believe you have to have a letter or something from your doctor stating the need of it. http://www.dmba.com/nsc/fsa/pdf/fsaExpenseSummary.pdf
  18. Just had my first months visit with after surgery NT, we talked about cereal, so far the Cream of Wheat and Oatmeal are ok, also eggs, though have had those a lot and getting tired of eating the same foods, she told us to just try other and see how I react to them because of dumping, getting my Protein hasn't been a problem since I drink milk and Protein shakes. My only issue is getting fluids in, most days its usually between 40oz to 50oz.

    When does the pain stop?

Yes its nerve damage pain, mine was external and its nothing to do with the bowel movements, I had my surgery on the 20th of January and had the same problem, mine has slowly got better. At them moment its pretty mild though that same area feels numb to the touch, thankfully the burning pain has gone, now its more itchy and numb.
  20. So I had my surgery 3 weeks ago ( 20th January) I am mostly back to normal, eating soft foods, so far so good. My problem is to the left of my belly button and under what I call my dent scar, the skin is still very bruised and tender, I can't bend, my internal pain has gone completely its just this small area that just seem to want to hang around and cause me pain, the heat pad helps a little but there are times when I have to resort to taking children's pain medication, since doctor said not to take Advil or Aleve just yet. Does anyone else have this issue, I thought the pain and discomfort would of been gone by now.

    Stomach pain 3 weeks out

I did a bit of research and think my pain is related to nerve end damage, my pain is more external then internal, it comes and goes with movement, it feels like a burning sensation. The area between the belly button and the incision area us bad bruised as well.

    Stomach pain 3 weeks out

Doctor only mention not taking them while healing was going on, I wasn't made aware that I'd not be able to take them ever again, I'll talk with him the next clinic visit. Thanks for making me aware of this.
  23. So, I am at 9 days since surgery, there have been times that I've wished I hadn't done it. Had my surgery Monday 20th of January, it went well, was feeling great the rest of the day, was drinking/sipping Water, broth and Jello on and off got a few walks in. Tuesday came around not such a good day, doctor wanted me home after my bariatric meal test, but sadly I had a allergic reaction to Hydrocodine, itchy rash, nausea, so they change me to Oxyicodine which help me, got sent home Tuesday night. Wednesday wasn't to bad a day but come Thursday it seem I still had some ill effect of the Hydrocodine, I was covered in Hives, not fun. Friday was my worse'd day, I was dry heaving and couldn't keep anything down, anti nausea pill wasn't doing anything. Husband phoned hospital and was sent to get some different anti nausea meds, luckily doubling up on Zofran seem to fix it, slowly since Saturday I've been feeling better. Since Monday I've managed to drink 3 Protein shakes a day and have pudding and Soup. Though I think the pudding doesn't agree with me as usually have to visit the little room about an hour later, wondering if its a dairy issue. I'm still very sore and badly bruised, getting up can be an issue but once I am up I am ok, walking 4 / 20 minute walks a day. I am looking forward to being able to wear proper pants again instead of gym wear and sleeping on my side, that's been a big no no for some reason, I've tried and it just isn't comfy, maybe next week. Will do a weigh in soon.
  24. Had surgery on Monday 20th, first two days went by pretty easy, yesterday wasn't to bad, but today has been no fun, dry heaves and now more sickness, had to use the bucket more then once today, Pain in the right side is just as bad, but hurts more when the dry heaves start, those seem to start after taking the anti sickness pills, Please tell me this is going to be worth it, I've never felt this bad before.

    G a s

Had a bypass on Monday, gas has been my main problem so far, pain isn't to bad. But the gas is being weird, it starts off as though my stomach is grumbling, then moves to being gas, Gas X works ok but doesn't get rid of it completely. As for trying to lay on my side, that's a no go, it hurts to much. Any tips would be most grateful.
