Thanks Cherryhair! When was your surgery? And I am in a recliner now. Lol. Not sure I won't stay here for the night.

My surgery was on 12/30 last Monday so I'm right there with you. I have slept in the recliner a couple times and it has been pretty comfortable. My biggest challenge right now is getting in at least 800 calories-never thought I'd be saying that. My protein and liquid #'s are good but I've only been eating about 400-500 cals- don't want my metabolism to slow.

Are you counting the calories from your protein mix for the 400-500 cals?

Hi everyone, I just read through the posts and want to say congratulations to those of you who had your surgery. I am happy to hear what you are experiencing right after surgery so I know what to kind of expect. I was nervous for awhile but now not so much because I do have faith in my surgeon. I am more excited and looking forward to mine being done, which is Monday the 13th of Jan. I was wondering how it was gonna be once I got home and the getting up and down and in and out of bed, which you have shared. I am curious how long that will last. I do hope not so long :). Oh I forgot to mention my surgery is going from lapband to rny.

That would be awesome! How long is your hospital stay? I am really hoping for a fellow by pass roommate!! Are you from the area? I will be so lonely as I am from Manitoba and have no support coming with me and I have to stay there for 1 week :(

I'm so sorry you won't have support. We are all here for you.

Anyone else get insomnia while on their preop diet? In the past 4 days, I've had 5 hours of sleep.

Oh wow! Glad to know I'm not alone with the insomnia. I am struggling to make it through the day....glad it's almost TIME!

Shortandsassy love your name. Suits me also. Haha

I have great faith in my surgeon, however I don't seem to have much faith in myself. I've failed at everything I've tried in regards to losing weight for over 13 years...I know this is my last chance. I've done everything to prepare for the best outcomes, I'm just worried I will always be trapped in this fat suit. My surgery is Friday (Jan 10th). Could use some friends/support...

Hello urkillingme. I can totally relate. I even failed at the band. How pathetic am I? I tell very few peeps I even had it because they look at me and I know what they're thinking. What really stinks is I didn't even loose much on a liquid Opti fast diet. Now I hear you loose less going from lap band to gastric, uggg!!!! I hated weight watchers because I was always the pathetic one in the corner that lost .5 lbs to everyone elses 2 to 5 lbs. Really?! Wtf? My husband would loose 5 times more than me and he even gets to eat more!!!!! Whatever. I need to do this and even if I only loose 50 lbs it is still better than being fat and starving. At least I can be skinnier and starving. Best of luck. I look forward to sharing the journey.

I worry about that to. My surgery is Jan 20 and I have not kept it A secret tonnes of people know and now I worry that I will not live up to my goals! These forums are so supportive and I will just continue reading them to get support especially during tough times :(

My surgery it the 20th also. I start my liquid diet tomorrow. I also worry about loosing! Am I gonna be that fat person who couldnt even loose weight with surgery! I have been praying for years for God to give me the strength to loose this weight, I know this is what he wants for me so I'm trying to focus on that! I hope a year from now, we are all saying how silly we were to think this way. God bless us! And give us strength.

Don't feel alone.....I do too.

urkeelingme...I do understand how you feel. I also couldn't lose weight with anything I tried, even after having the lapband. I have lost some but the weight came back. So this also is my last option. I do have faith this will work for us and we will not be trapped in a fat body. Good luck with surgery tomorrow. Please keep us updated with how you are feeling :)
