18 Month Follow Up

  • Popular Post

Hey my fellow sleeve victims.

I had my 18 month post op follow up visit today. Nothing unusual to report. Everything is fine. I've lost 83% of my excess body weight and gone from a BMI of 52 to 28. It's hard to believe I can it's been 18 months, time flies. But it's been a great time and the best decision I've ever made. This pic I think says it all.

Oh.....NSV for me today. Went to a public pool this afternoon and got in without feeling like I needed a shirt on. First time ever. Gotta love Texas weather .....hotel pool in November. Yes

  • I think that's why my surgeon didn't set a "goal" For me.. That number was picked by me because of the info you put on this site.... Hey it's Alex's fault!! ***Laura runs to get a pitchfork to lea

  • So something that my surgeon said at a bariatric "motivational" speech (aimed at all his post-op peeps...from the 3 diff. types of surgeries he performs) was this: (I will summarize) I don't care ab

Amazing transformation Butter! Thanks for sticking around here and offering your wisdom to those who wish to take it. ;)

Awww, Butter, you are adorable! :) Did your head shrink when you lost weight? It looks smaller!

There are those who think it's gotten bigger. I'm sure one will chime in soon.

Butter,

Awwwww man

i'm so sick and tired of hearing those OP

you look great, amazing, etc. etc. etc.

you are so helpful et al

mushy, mushy <_<

aren't you getting bored too????

gotcha :D

you know me, had to make silly remarks like that

you are aces, really :)

keep up the great work for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life (probably knew i was gonna say that too!! )

kathy

congrats

You look wonderful. I'm sorry about your hair loss, though. ^_^

OMG! You look so hot! Just right! Perfect! You also look as if you are more confident now too! Not that you weren't before.......Congrats! :P

Congrats Butter! Love the before and after. As for BMI, I agree it's so misleading. But I suspect you'll drop a few more pounds as you continue to heal from plastics.

Congrats! You look great and I honestly can't believe you've been poking around these boards that long. It doesn't feel like it! I swear you and Laura showed up yesterday.

Enjoy it. I do love that you can be so healthy and NOT be a normal BMI. We put too much emphasis on that stupid damned chart. That said...man, I've love to see a normal BMI again. ;)

That could be a father/son set of pics - not only do you look years younger, you din't even look your age!

As for BMI, I have lost 92% of my excess body weight this year (thanks Gamergirl for working that out for me!) - and I am still overweight! Age and how you look and feel have to come into play, not just weight, when you decide if you are done losing weight. I am aiming for within the normal BMI range but not at the expense of looking good for the first time in years...

Yes indigo! Age does play into healthy BMI :)

Oh and butter I won't touch on your extra large head tonight... But I think your pants look just right!

Congrats to you Butter. Great new pic. You're truly an inspiration.

Lookin' hot, Butter, my friend! What a marvelous accomplishment.

I do think once you've been heavy, the BMI charts do not apply so much. As our bodies grew, so did all of our organs and supporting infrastructure. We can see that our skin did, but what you can't see are all the inside organs, but I imagine that contributes a few pounds, too.

Either way, you are a total success, and I'm thrilled for you! Thanks for sharing those pics!

WOW!! Butter, you look amazing! Thanks for sharing. :)

I want to light the BMI chart on fire. This is the number one reason I hate my doctors. With my age (33 as of tomorrow) I can reasonably weigh 101-131 and be normal. Instead of weighing 93-123 pounds...which range I haven't seen since age ten.

Well, let's face it. I'm never gonna be normal, not even BMI chart normal.

You said it... Not me! :P

I'd like to burn that damn chart too.

Some days I'm like why am I chasing this stupid number?? My body is so happy where I'm at right now.. And I look pretty ok. I've come so close to changing my "goal" on my ticker.

But if I did that what would I have to bitch about??? :P
