I started walking the day after surgery. After about 5 days I built myself up to 2-4 miles a day and as of Monday I started couch to 5k.

My Dr. turned me loose after 1 week......including soaking in the hot tub...

i came home on thursday and living in a long ranch house, i walked up and down my hallway..dr said up and moving asap..stop when hurt........but if its more than walking, def refer to your doctor for their instructions

The Band has turned me into a walker -- I am so happy about that! My regular workout pre-band is four days a week recumbent bike, treadmill and BowFlex. I'm day 9 post-op and have not gone back to that yet -- my surgeon said treadmill is fine but wait six weeks on the other. I also do some strengthening exercises -- core work, etc. Was really missing that (helps my neck) so I tried an amended version with just upper body. Next day my belly really hurt so I guess I was working the abs without realizing it. So for me I am just going to do the walk, walk, walking for six weeks and not rush anything else.

Dr cleared me to spin after 4 weeks :) I was walking around house day after surgery n by day 4 slowly on treadmill... 4 months post op working out 6 days a week :)

I started walking 5 min every 2 hrs the day after surgery. Started running 5 min each morning after 2 weeks and have slowly built up to 2.1 miles each morning over the last 7 months (weather permitting).

I was walking per my doctor beginning the day after surgery - only 20 minutes a day. And I built on that. It's been 11 months and I walk 4 to 5 miles a day - 4 to 5 days a week.
