How Many Calories Are You Having?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

It's been awhile since I've been on here but I need some help. I was sleeved 5/20 (almost 6mos) and I've been stuck for about a month. I work out 3-5x week and have a trainer. I'm 5'2 and down 41lb. How many cals a day are you having? I'm eating about 800-850 but seems a little low now that I think about it.

SW: 213

CW: 172

Thanks in advance! :)

I am 4'10" started at 200lbs, surgery was 7/22 and now weigh 157. I have not counted calories per say but follow a low carb diet. Don't actually count the carbs either. After years of doing Atkins I know which foods to avoid. I start each day with a Premier Protein drink, a mid morning snack is usually a mini Babybel cheese or 1/3 of a Quest bar. lunch could be leftovers from the night before(one or two meatballs, chicken with broccoli, lentil soup) or some deli turkey and swiss rolled around a pickle spear. Afternoon snack sometimes is a greek yogurt or a glass of low fat milk with sugar free chocolate Syrup. dinner is meat and low carb veggies like broccoli or green Beans. If I am hungry again after that I might have a couple of apple slices with Peanut Butter. Don't know how many calories it is but I do know it is radically less than I used to eat.

Working with a trainer I am sure you need more calories. My exercise has been riding my bike and using my Gazelle. Cold weather has ended my bike riding and tendonitis in my knee has limited the Gazelle use.

With all that training you may have lost more than you think but gained muscle. Your type of question is posted often and some of the vets will tell you to mix things up.....up your calories, do more cardio, less cardio, etc.

Good luck.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
