  • By Thanksgiving I will be 10 weeks out and I'll have a little bit of turkey, some green bean casserole and a tiny dollop of mashed taters.

  • I already informed my family that I will NOT be preparing Thanksgiving dinner this year. I have been the hostess, cook, financer, and clean up for 12 years now. Since I will only be about a month out

  • Now I actually do have a valid excuse to skip family dinner altogether and hit the sales early.

I will be 2 and a half weeks out on Thanksgiving and my NUT told me to make all day Thanksgiving dinner. I have to eat five meals' date=' so I am to make one smashed sweet potatoes, one turkey blended with broth, one mashed potatoes and gravy, etc. She even said I could have one spoonful of the center of the pumpkin pie.[/quote'] Good luck! You'll be doing good to have any of it. At two and a half weeks it was shakes and yogurt for me. My belly didn't want anything like that. Heck, I'm 9 weeks out and I'm doing good to get thru tuna fish. In fact I'm having yogurt for supper..... And with that meal plan, how are you going to get in your 60 gms of protein?

I am 4 1/2 months post op and will try a little of everything that I want. Maybe just a bite of the stuffing though.....bread still makes me nervous. Sounds like I will eat a ton but in actuality it will be a bite or 2 of this and that. can't wait! :)

I will be 10 weeks out. I have not decided what to cook, I do not like turkey. Maybe a hen.

Very good thread ! I was wondering myself what I could have! I was going to have the outside of a deviled egg, I will be on soft food then!!

I did it last year - I was 4 weeks out. Don't worry - it's not that bad! I just enjoyed sitting at the table and being part of things with my family.

No one mentioned cranberry sauce or black olives which are my fave!!!

. Cranberry sauce.... You mean sugar with cranberries right? And as for black olives....actually contain good fats, but a bit salty.
