Veteran sleevers...HELP. 6 weeks out, nausea starting again?

Recommended Posts

If I skip my PPI or am more than a few hours off from when I normally take it my day is done for and I have heartburn that settles into nausea. I usually take one 20mg pill in the morning and on these days will take a second. Might be worth a try. My surgeons office said because of the progression of heartburn to nausea it is just how my body deals with the acid.

I had terrible nausea the first 2 months. I could only drink Water if I put lemon and/or ginger in it. I also discovered on Amazon these wonderful ginger drops called Tummy Drops. They saved me! It finally went away. I hope all is well with you and you feel better soon.

I pretty much eat the SAME diet daily...there are a few variations' date=' but mostly the same stuff. I do know the PA told me that nausea could be gallbladder issues, BUT i'm not hurting at all. Yesterday and today, I have hardly been able to eat much of anything - between 300-500 calories and that is FORCING myself to eat.[/quote']

I had nausea and vomiting and had to have my gallbladder out Im in the same boat I did okay the first 6 weeks then everything just went downhill

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
