Feels like my filler port is popping out

Recommended Posts

Not sure about everyone else but my filler port seems so close to the skin it feels like it's going to pop out of the skin. Is this normal or should it be more deep under the surface? Just paranoid I might have over done this first week and pushed it up??

Brand new 8 days. No I've never seen it, still have liquid bandage over the wounds and they haven't healed a 100 percent yet. Are you able to see it after?

Ok so you can't see it under the skin? I'm just trying to figure out if it's just swollen from surgery or literally right under the skin pushing upward.

I can see mine but I've lost over 230 pounds so it's to be expected. At the beginning it was too covered in fat to see. And when I say "see" I mean see the bump under the skin.

Of I remember correctly mine seemed close to the surface after surgery. As time goes by it kinda settles in. Mine doesn't stick out like it used to. I was banded in 2011.

We guys have our ports installed different than the girls. Mine is just under and to the right of my left manboob. It's sutured into the muscles of my torso near the surface. I've always been able to feel mine, and as I lost weight it now juts out more. I'm OK with it though.

My dr. calls me the model child when i come in because once i lay back on that bed my port is in plan sight..ive lost 11 inches in the tummy area so they told me the more i lose the more itll be none. I have a little lump when i wear a tight shirt. but it doesnt bother me. i just can sleep on my side that the port is on. its doesnt hurt but its not comfortable to me anymore. .. my dr said once i hit my goal i can have it put somewhere else if i choose to..

The port should be anchored to the abdominal wall - muscle...under layers of fat, and skin being the top layer...if your port is protruding through the skin, as mine is, Rejoice because that means you do not have much, if any, belly fat...

But there is visceral and non visceral fat to contend with....

Also, think about all the stories where Dr.'s can't find the port to do fills, or people having their ports flipped....I know I will never have those problems....port is sandwiched very tightly, in plain site.

I can see every nook and cranny, even the tubing coming out the side, traveling 2-3 inches before it goes deep....

Other people in the locker room at the club can see it very plainly and I get asked now and then what is it...I just say I had surgery and it is an implant...no big deal.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
