Hello,

My name is Stacy ,and finally after all the ins. stuff I get to have my band on Mrach 6th. Im really happy, but today I went and did my blood work at the hospital, and the nerves kind of sat in. Iv never been put to sleep, Only 2 c- sections. Does anyone know how the pain is compared to a c- section? Just the thought of haveing the tube down my throat really gets me. Has anyone ever come out with nasel trumpets after surgery. Those are tubes that are placed in your nose and down your throat to keep the airway opened. My dad has sleep apnia and when has anything done he wakes up with them. Any way you would think i would be more worried about other things like the liquid diet and such. Also I had only planned on taking off one week of work, Im a Hairdresser, Do you think that is enough time . After the sections i was fine after one week. Thanks for all the great info.

Stacy:clap2:

I have never had any other surgeries so I don't have anything to compare it with but for me, it wasn't bad. I never took a pain pill and never felt I needed one. The gas pain was the only "pain" I exprienced.

I work in conservation and I took one week off from work and honestly, I could have went back beforehand. I would think that one week would be fine but everyone is different. If you were fine a week after your c-sections, I think you will fine here too. Good luck! Let us know how everything goes!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
