Hi everyone I'm new to the forum. I thought long and hard before I had the RenY done. My surgery was April fool's day this year. I had a tough recovery because I don't tolerate pain meds well, so I stopped them the day after surgery. I also have a severe panic disorder and crushing 8 pills at night is tough, but Walden Farms Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup saved my life once I got home. First 2 1/2 weeks were hellish. I'm feeling much better now though. I have lost 45 pounds in the first month. I am 6 feet tall and did weight 305. I know I'm just into a new month, but I haven't lost any in a few days. I do my very best to get my 60 grams of Protein in, and I love Water so most days I have no trouble drinking 64 oz. I can't eat very much and am probably consuming 450-500 calories a day. Do y'all think I am on track? Should I worry when a few days go by with no weight loss? I am walking, but I do have planters fasciitis so most days it's 30 minutes. I am buying a recumbent bike to help me out. Thanks for your input and for being available! Meg

Stalls are very common during this whole process. Keep following protocol and the weight will come off when its ready to. You are doing really well!!! Be patient!

Losing 45 lbs in the first month is awesome! And as Kristy mentioned stalls are common. I stalled between weeks 3 and 4 but then all of a sudden the scale started moving again and I dropped 5 lbs quickly. I think it's just our bodies adjusting to all the changes/weight loss. I also walk about 35 minutes a day. Funny you should mention a bike, today I went for a 4 mile bike ride - first time I've ridden a bike in I don't even know how long! I definetly wouldn't have attempted that 50 lbs ago! It sounds like you are on track and keep up the good work!

Thanks for the positive reinforcement! I really appreciate it. I so want to get healthy again. Most of my life I was thin, then my back went out along with both my feet. Boy when I started gaining, I really gained. I'm looking forward to life more now. I intend to be very active here. Thanks again!

when I hit the end of my 3ed month I was not seeing the same weight loss as the first few months I stated thinking something was wrong but I just stuck to walking and working on the new food amount and sure enough it started moving quickly again down 75 pounds hang in there!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
