I had my surgery on 2/26/13 and i lost 20lbs my first week but I've gained 4,I have thyroid problems so it's always has been hard for me to lose any weight and im afraid this will be another failed attempt.today i met a lady who had the surgery 6mos. ago and has only lost 27lbs and she can eat only 600 calories a day plus she exercises,I'm very discouraged especially since I've never been able to lose weight without pills.< /p>

Patience! I'm hypothyroid and I will be 3 mos out on Sunday. I've lost 55 lbs since surgery and 65 lbs total. Trust that this will work. Don't give up!!!

I feel your concern. Patients sure is a tough lesson and no matter how many times we have the lesson, it just don't get easier to deal with. I'm only three and a half weeks post op. I lost 16lbs on the two week liquid diet and another 14 after surgery (pretty much in the first two weeks). I feel pretty good about that, but after this week I'm already worried about stalling. I am doing everything I'm told, so I have to use my faith to get me the patients to see this all go just the way it's supposed to. I feel your burden and am glad you are here letting us know so we can support you. :)

Try to stay positive, it will happen I myself have had hypothyroidism for over 12 yrs and have had the same problem. I had surgery on 10/17/13 and it seems the same way for me that I wasn't losing the weight as fast as I thought but believe me it eventually came I am 5 1/2 out and almost 70 pounds down!!! Hang in there it will get better I promise!!!

They say your body is going through shock after surgery. It will try to hang on to your fat cells for dear life. Plus hormones on top of it. It will eventually lose the battle and you will lose weight. Just be patient! :)

It so good to have this support. I had surgery 2/26 and feel the same way... It's hard I just have to remember that it's a marathon not a sprint!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
