Finally...... RNY Surgery Set !

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum and still trying to navigate my way around the site! My name is Mary, I am 32 from Va. I have finally decided to take the plunge! My surgery date is set for March 13, 2013 !!! I have less than 4 weeks to go! I am very excited and can't wait to transform my life to a better healthier one. I have struggled with being obese since about 6 months after my first son was born back in 1998! I have been trying relentlessly to get thinner but it just seems like the weight wont budge... On top of that I have had pseudotumor cerebri (IIH) for over 4 years now and hopefully ahen I loose the weight I will loose that too!

  • Well today is the day surgery scheduled for 10 this morning. Setting here nervous as I can possibly be. Please pray for me today for a smooth and 100 percent successful surgery.

  • I sure will but as of right now the weather may end up making me have to reschedule my surgery and if so I may end up being after you but i sure pray not!

I know what you mean Jess I'm in love with farting, I just don't go around doing it around everyone lol

Me either but now after surgery it hurts to hold it LOL .....uggg I'm Judy ready to get back to a regular diet

I never hold it I just take off somewhere else where nobody is there and then free myself lol and hope that no 1 walks behind me lol

Well had a rough night last night in hospital but hopefully ill get to go home today. Nothing better than my house n my bed. Altho I don't look to sleep n my bed for a lil bit yet. Crossing my fingers I will tho.

Speaking of farting, I know after surgery it's a gassy situation, but for those of you who have already had yours for a while now, is this s daily issue ?? I heard there is a pill they can give to neutralize them so they are not so stinky?? Any input on that ?? This is a scary area for me, I absolutely hate passing gas, lol..I for one wished we never had to fart or have bowel movement ever in our lives , I know goofy ain't I, lol

I know for me personally(I just had surgery 2/25) the first few days was the worse with farting but that's because the give u high doses of regalin to get ur GI track moving now its just occasional gas but I burp alot
