Finally...... RNY Surgery Set !

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum and still trying to navigate my way around the site! My name is Mary, I am 32 from Va. I have finally decided to take the plunge! My surgery date is set for March 13, 2013 !!! I have less than 4 weeks to go! I am very excited and can't wait to transform my life to a better healthier one. I have struggled with being obese since about 6 months after my first son was born back in 1998! I have been trying relentlessly to get thinner but it just seems like the weight wont budge... On top of that I have had pseudotumor cerebri (IIH) for over 4 years now and hopefully ahen I loose the weight I will loose that too!

  • Well today is the day surgery scheduled for 10 this morning. Setting here nervous as I can possibly be. Please pray for me today for a smooth and 100 percent successful surgery.

  • I sure will but as of right now the weather may end up making me have to reschedule my surgery and if so I may end up being after you but i sure pray not!

Only a few more days for you Penny!!!

Yea I know but the weather is not looking good for Wednesday and Thursday if itb snows to much I wont be able to make it there and then ill go back on list of surgery. I have a video consent that has to be done on Wednesday and if I dont make it for that I cant get my surgery and then Thursday surgery. And watchn the weather its looking like snow starting Wednesday. ...im sooooo stressed. So now im worried about weather and surgery. Praying all falls into place.

I'm hoping too Penny!!!! Maybe you could stay in ahotel the night before surgery.. Somewhere close to the hospital? Just a thought ;)

Im hoping to and it would be an option to stay in a hotel but as of now ut looks like the weather may start on Wednesday and I have to work Wednesday afternoon. Im just hopeful I can get there.

Hi guys I'm also new here. I'm also from VA (Richmond) my surgery date is April 5 @ MCV..

Congrats! Thats just around corner... word of advice if your wanting to go sooner let your dr office know if they have any cancellation to give you a call. Im a week sooner because I did and if I had told them sooner I could be post op right now. I go march 7 assuming weather permits.

I am set April 8, but I don't think they can get me sooner because I still have to get the gallbladder ultrasound and upper endoscopy as well as bloodwork and EKG. All this is scheduled throughout march. I will be switching from band to bypass. I'm super nervous so if you are able, hop on and tell me how it goes since our dates are so close!
