Caffeinated coffee post-op

Recommended Posts

So I know some doctors say no caffeine, but lets get real. Some of us need our caffeine. Have any of you tried a cup of coffee in the morning and had any issues? Or does it seem to be okay? I was reading on the Unjury website that the chocolate mixed with a cup of coffee is nice. I think I'd like to try it.

I drink coffee in the morning when I get home from school and sometimes in the evening. No issues yet. But I can never drink a whole cup. So maybe 4 ounces at a time. Before surgery I would drink it all day long

I asked the same thing... I am a coffee achiever. I like mine plain and black. My NUT said it was okay 2 weeks post-op if I am getting all of my Water in. If not, I have to have Decaf.< /p>

It's my vice. I have a cup of coffee in the morning. I add extra Water and if I have it, I found I can hit the treadmill in the morning and I need all the help I can get with exercise. I don't drink anything else caffeinated.

I have heard that caffeine can cause stomach ulcers. Have you tried 50/50?

It does not cause ulcers but can aggravate ulcers you already have

I have my coffee every morning and it hasn't bothered me in the least. I say go for it. If you don't feel well after drinking it, then you will know that you can't have it :D . I'm sure you've heard it's all really trial and error.

I add about two tsp nescafe to my vanilla Protein powder and a cup of skim milk in the morning. Love it

I also take skinny capuccino occasionally and it goes fine. Only a small one though

How far out was everyone when they started drinking caffeinated coffee? I am at 9 weeks and have been scared to drink it!

I'm 7days post op and I've had about 3 cups this week, but it's Decaf and I can only have Splenda in it. It was on my approved liquid list

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
