Day of surgery I was 240 now I'm 197.. I was just wanting to see if people that had surgery around the same time have lost that much .. I don't know if I'm on track or I need to step up what doing...I worry because I can't drink the Protein Drinks. Since I had surgery I hate everything sweet and them drinks taste like pure sugar and make me sick. I try to eat a lot of Protein in my foods but can only eat a few bites and I'm full... Tks dde0a

You are doing well. I was 237 on DOS and this morning I weighed in at 189. A lot of foods that I loved before, just the sound of them turns me off. chocolate, blah, pizza blah, most all meats, double blah. I can eat very much and I'm full too. Have you tried the Special K Protein? I love it. W the FF milk you're getting about 14 G protein. I got my Syntrax Nectar, fuzzy navel in the mail yesterday. I like it. It has a strong taste of fuzzy navels but I blend mine with frozen fruit to make smoothies. So far Ive used strawberries. The chocolate, vanilla and those other thick protein drinks I can't handle due to the sweetness. I could right after surgery however not now.

I got tired of yogurts for now. I'm just not used to so much dairy products. I still love string cheese though. I do what I can to eat the Proteins vs supplement, but my body needs to cooperate w me.

I haven't been able to work out in 6 weeks. On Jan 29, I had a complete hysterectomy then complications :-( I'm still on a light duty where I can't do a lot, so I don't like that. I was hoping for surgery to go off w/o a hitch and ended up w complications. But as for the RNY, no problems with that surgery :-)

I'm abt the same as you, Gen. My surgery was December 10. I weighed 228 and now weigh 185. It has slowed down. My doc doesn't want me to drink Protein drinks anymore so I'm spared of that yuckiness in my life. He wants me to eat natural forms of protein. It's difficult but I am almost always able to get in 60+ g protein and stay under 900 calories each day. Honestly, I feel so much better without all those artificial sweeteners in protein drinks, bars, and supplements.

Glad you are feeling better!

I was 255 the day if surgery today I was 217. My surgery was Dec 10' date=' I feel my weight is coming off slow compared to others. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week but I feel it's not coming off as fast as the first month and a half. I too am not getting the Protein I should. I only liked the banana but it has gotten to the point I can't even drink that. I need to find another drink with lots if protein. Let me know if you find anything.[/quote']

I'm after you guys (1/10/13) but am also a slow loser. Was 239.8 day of and am now 211.4). I have a hypo thyroid so it's normal to be slow I guess. Took me a year to lose about 80lbs 3yrs ago, but I gained it all back. Last week I only lost 1/2lb. Trying hard to get the protein in as well but am tired of the drinks and am doing the "protein shake shuffle". One that's high in protein is Premeir Protein, has 30g for 11oz and only 1g sugar, 3g fat, a ton of Vitamins and is 160 calories. You can get it at costco or SAMs in vanilla or chocolate. It's not chalky, just needs to be really cold. I also use vanilla whey protein and mix in in a bottle of Water with an off brand orange crystal light from Walmart. Tastes like a light orange creamcycle.

I don't go to the gym often but I walk every day, do some videos, and am doing a lot better about getting my water in. I think this is ok-the "biggest losers" (and no offense here at all) are usually those that have a lot more to lose. It's why I try not to compare my loss to others.

Having the same issues as you weight loss slowed down and I've been more hungry this week esp. Than normal. I guess I need to learn to drink more when I get hungry. I was worried about the hunger everyone I've talked to us like I can't believe your hungry and your not even 3 months out.

I know!! That makes me worried!! I stepped on tr scale this am and gained 6 pounds since last time and my period isn't due! :'(

Well still on light duty for at least 2 more weeks due to the complications I had from hysterectomy :-( I really want to start working out again. Dr said the healing of the internal stitches and where I had the infection looks good, healing well. Although I think the one abscess that blocked the ureter causing my kidney to swell, is filling back up. Starting to have some pain when walking again, minor pain right now. Also a lot of pressure and some pain when relieving my bladder.

The doctors told me two weeks ago it would probably need to be drained again but I figured after a week that I was in the clear. I might be wrong :-(

I'm wondering if that's what's going on. I've always craved and have been more hungry around that time of month. Im due next week and this week I was more hungry than normal. Hopefully that's all it is

Yes! I really hope that's all it is for you! Like I said, I'm not due for awhile, just got over it so I dunno what it could be for me besides me being sick. I guess we both try not to trip out about it and see what happens next week? Lol.

Got put on the "lifestyle" plan today from my doc, don't need to go see him or the nutritionist for 4 more months!! They said everything is right on track for me. Down 44lbs in 10 weeks, no complications, no dehydration (even though I only drink approx 32oz of Water a day--on a good day).

I had a chicken and cheese quesadilla (1/2 for lunch & 1/2 for dinner), felt great to eat a normal portion of a normal food.< /p>

I need to be better about taking my Vitamins though, I am terrible at remembering to get them all in.

Glad to see all the good news getting shared around here today, hope others are doing well :)

My surgery was 12/5/2012. I was 222 day of surgery and yesterday at my 3 month I am 193. It's much slower than I expected. I exercise 4 times a week. I eat per plan.

Dr says because of weight range, height, expect 2/3 pounds a week. I am 57 and I have wrecked my metabolism over years of crazy yoyo diets. I am happy with my progress. It's difficult when you compare yourself with others seeming to be in the same weight range. This is an individual journey, I love the support here.

I joined fitness pal and watch my progress. I think it help keep me honest. Join and friend me.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
