You're doing fine it's normal not have any appetite. Just try your best to get something down so you won't get weak. You'll get your strength and your appetite back little by little. Even though you haven't eaten much during this time don't be surprised that you don't lose any weight. Your body is trying to heal and it's going to try to hold on to everything at has, That was my experience. You can do it!!!:):)

Yes definitely...a whole flood of emotions were taking over my whole week that's all I can think of..then the times I would go numb.I would unthaw with overwhelming thoughts of the surgery..its a major life changing decision..so of course its gonna consume your thoughts beforehand...you will do great..good luck

That is exactly how I felt the whole week before, one minute excited the next just numb, like oh well do what you will with me. If you can keep your self occupied that will help. I didn't and it made for some miserable long days. So if you feel like finishing up a project or something do it. Cause idle thoughts make us nuts. lol. Will be praying for you and wishing you all the best

You are so right. I am fasting and at work and its lunch time. Just have to stay at my desk. Chewing gum helps. All week I have cleaned and wash clothes or anything just to past the time. Can't seem to focus in work.

I just found out I will need to stay another night. My hemoglobin is low. Hopefully I car get rid if the IV my arm is sore from it. They are giving me potassium IV now and it takes a few hours. I feel surprisingly good. Just tired. I am sure I gained weight here with all the Fluid they have pumped me up with.

Surgery dec 5

I had to stay 5 nights due to low hemoglobin. I bled a lot. But finally I am getting much better. Wishing you the best of success.

Any fresh post opers experiencing sudden temperature changes? My house is still the same temperature yet I'm cold...and then hot enough to sweat. I don't have a fever and I have no other signs of infection. My muscles are sore throughout my back.

I've already made the mistakes I pitied people for doing prior to my surgery. Eating---anything!!! That is no joke. I want steak like I want air. Is it just that I want what I can't have? Typical. A nurse that had had the sleeve said she would take a bite and spit it out. My dog would like that.

Anyways, I've lost 10 lbs since Thursday. I would do it again today. Hope everyone is feeling well.

Dear Dec Surgery Friends.

I am so sorry to have been missing in action this past five days. I got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. I thought I would be giving you guys constant updates. But wham. I didn't have the motivation to even open my lap top or anything. If I posted anything nutty I am sorry. I was pretty looped on Thurs and some of Friday. So I will try to catch up here. On Wed the 5th went in for surgery. Only really bad thing' date=' and I am sharing this because I think I should be honest and not blow butterflies up everyones behind, is I was intubated while awake. (This happened when I was banded and one of my biggest fears) Now my situation with the severe asthma and COPD and small mouth and short throat made this necessary. But it was awful. I will not lie, it was awful But i don't think this is anything the majority of people have to worry about. And I did get through it.

Surgery that was performed was the removal of the band, the RNY, adhesions and scar tissue removed (quite a bit from what the doc said) and then a Gyno surgeon came in and removed the ovary and mass and cyst. I have eight incision sites.

Pain hasn't been horrible at all. I mean don't get me wrong there was pain. But not as bad as you would think.

I am working hard at getting liquids in. Nothing has come back up or anything. Ate a few times 2 ounces of full liquids. I do not feel hungry at all.

Today will be me trying to work out some sort of schedule to get stuff in. Woke up way to early, So I am thinking a couple of naps will be in order. Slept in my own bed which was nice. Had no trouble sleeping on my sides.

Abdominal binder was a good thing. I have it off right now. They put it on in surgery and it stayed on till I got home. And it may go back on at some point today.

There is so much to tell. I will get to it through out the day.

I really apologize for not being here for all of you and not letting you know how things were going. I was just so out of it.

Thought of you all.

Thanks for your prayers and thoughts. Please keep them coming. I think this is a long journey and we sure need each other.[/quote']

That's a lot. Glad to hear you made it through all of that & back with us! Sending prayers your way in hopes you recover quickly. Welcome to the losers bench!

Thanks for the reassuring thoughts girls!! And guys? Lol. It really is such a flood of emotion. I'm having surgery Thurs and today is my last day at work, Tues and Wed I'm gonna be taking a lot of my things to my Mom's (I live alone, so staying there a few days post op), do all my laundry, get all my pills organized, etc. Hopefully all that will keep me busy! I pray everyday for all of us to have successful outcomes and no problems! So thank you all for your support and prayers!! :)

I'm not like that post op but I was like that during the pre op liquid diet. I want food too! I haven't had anything but keep day dreaming about it. At first I wasn't hungry at all but today I am. Hopefully my creamy Soup that I'm gonna try tonight for dinner will help. I can't wait to get to the soft solids stage in another week! Lol.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
