Lord Give Me Patience

Hi all, just want to say that I AM SICK OF WAITING! As you may be able to tell, I am not a paitent person. I guess I am frustrated because I have sucessfully completed all of the requirments from the BA Center. Psyc Eval, dietician, physical therapy, and dr. The only thing left is to see the surgeon and schedule. The problem and the cause of my frustration is my insurance, health partners they require me to do 5 appts over the phone with a nut and an exercise specialist before I can get an approval. The appts have to be 2 weeks apart. Well I have 2 left. So I won't be finished until Nov 26th. Well I am being told that that runs into me not being able to have surgery until sometime in Jan. I know, I know, that is just around the corner so what the big deal right. Well the big deal is I AM SICK OF WAITING! As I stated earlier I am not a patient person! If I understood why this is delaying me then maybe it would be easier to deal with. I realize the insurance company wants to make sure that I am prepared to make changes. However, having me tell someone every 2 weeks if I exercised or ate right gets old after a month. Basically we have nothing to talk about they ask a couple of questions I answer them then its awkward because she probably can't end the call early so she starts her fishing expedition she will ask are you struggling with anything? No, everthing is well. Do you have any questions for me? No, I have a clear underatanding of whats going on. Then silence she has nothing else then its awkward again. So I start to feel like they have nothing more to offer me other than an approval which they wont give me yet, so what is the freakin point of these conversations! They are not doctors, so the questions that I do have specifically about surgery they can't answer them. This is straight foolishness! I feel like they are wasting my time.

My insurance requires me to do 6 month doc supervised diet.... And my surgeon says its ridiculous they just do it to throw a detour and try to make u get frustrated and give up! His office is awesome

  • If everything go as planned, mine will be submitted around the same time.

To see someone with your insurance or your doctor?

I have to see my pcp and that's usually 45

I have to see a nut and that's an hour

they won’t even let me talk to the surgeons office until I satisfy this requirement - then I have a 3 hour surgeon appt - 8 pre-tests - and then we submit to insurance.

:(

I am right there with you. I have to have 6 months of talk therapy before I can be re evaluated I am 4 months in and I feel like time is moving at a snails pace most days. I have just been taking it day by day and eventually we will get there right?

I feel your pain! I'm so SICK of waiting. You know what makes waiting even worse?? Seeing my sister so successful with her surgery! She lost 83lbs in 3 months and it's just like...when is it MY turn? LOL. My 6th and final weigh in is 12/3 and then we're submitting to insurance. I could have surgery at the end of December/First week in January. Fingers crossed for us both!!!!!!

Having patience doesnt end when you have surgery either guys.... the stalls with the losses will have you pulling your hair out if it isnt falling out already... Use the time to get physically and mentally ready for the changes coming your way. We can all empathize because we have all been in your shoes...It is rare for anyone to not wait 3 to 6 months. I can hardly wait for each of you to be approved.. It is an exciting time. Good luck to each of you!!!

I am not patient either I am WAITING FOR APPROVAL TOO. I have jumped through all the hoops, let just breath ask God for strength and we can make it through this and before you know it we will be on the skinny side.

OMG..... Just got my approval today I have been extremely blessed I just started my journey alittle over three months ago and already approved with cigna who I have heard horror storys about when it comes to the approval process it only took five days and my surgery will be in two weeks because of my two week liquid diet that my surgeon requires..... I just want to say good luck to everyone and hang in there we will get though this together and look forward to seeing yall on the other side :)

My journey for approval took almost a year. I also could not even see my surgeon until all the prereg were completed which included the six month supervised diet and having to meet with the nut (group class style thank goodness) every month, a psych eval etc etc. After I completed all of that I had to make appt with surgeon and then they had to turn in for approval. Approval came back in a few weeks and then set the surgery date only to have them push it back a couple weeks because the doctor was going to be gone on vacation. But here I am 5 1/2 months out and that is all a thing of the past and I am over 2/3rds of the way down to meeting my goal of 145, so it will happen and someday you will not even remember that wait. Take this time to ask the nutritionist all the questions you see popping up on here and give us the answers LOL. Also do research on different foods and get her approval now, so at least you are not wasting your time with her. I never see a NUT now and only saw her once the day of release from the hospital. The nutritionist I saw before surgery was from a whole other service.

Good luck it will all be over and then all the stress and worry from after surgery takes over and trust me it is much more intense!!
