Ok my husband has somewhat resided to the fact I AM Doing this! Now that I am the insurance provider ..before he was and refused for me to do the surgery..he let me know really quick today I was taking the "easy way out".while I some what understand this mentality ..I just don't understand why he can see how important this is to me? Our marriage in my eyes is secure we have a great and I do mean great relationship .anyone else going or gone thru this?

I know I probably shouldn't be asking this but Anyone who is a believer& prays .. I need it ! Today I spoke with my surgery coordinator she submitted all my info for surgery approval and minutes later they denied!! Because they said I didn't meet qualifications from last 3 years bmi She said she had no idea why they did this because that wasn't true I did! Also I have sleep apnea that requires Cpap ..they told her to mail in my paperwork and they would review it...she said if they deny again the surgeon would speak to medical director on my behalf..I need for then to approve this request this time..I so have my hopes up and want this so badly! I feel selfish for whining about this but I am so broken hearted and depressed! :...(

No I have jut changed the way I am eating and hitting the gym hard everyday...I just am @ a point where I don't know what to do ..I'm just so discouraged ...thank u ladies for checking;-)

For 6 long months I have stalked this forum and have messaged back and forth to several sweet ppl.Friday I was denied approval for surgery ..yesterday denied again because they said my Bmi wasn't consistently @ least 40 for past 3 years.. it was like 38 ..even tho I have severe to moderate sleep apnea my "score " was not a 50 on sleep study.so my hopes and dreams of having this surgery, changing my life& trying to love the skin I am in were washed.so to all the sweet supportive ppl on this forum thank u! Unfortunately this forum will no longer apply to this girl ..sad sad but happy for all of u who will have and have had the surgery to get your life back.

I am going to call & write ... Let me know what she says..when I called I a Strong sense of dread so I can relate!! Lemme know!!

Well Margaret mentioned on fri he would talk to medical director but I guess since she received the reason for the denial he won't now? ..I said to her "so is this it? Nothing else I can do" and she said" no I am so sorry I know it disheartening" she was very sweet but at the time nothing was comforting

Yes was denied yesterday again because my sleep apnea wasn't scored high enough even tho its moderate to severe..my bmi was not consistently 40 for 3 years( it was 38-40) So this forum will no longer apply to me..I am devasted heartsick and just hurt .I just want to say thanks for all the sweet words and good luck to everyone!

That's basically what bcbs requirements say but still had to send them in..they just wanna make it hard for ppl in hopes of giving up

Yes I had to have 3 years worth of med records..and when Margaret submitted mine they denied me on Friday because they said that wasn't included in what she submitted ..her response was yes it was...they said my bmi was not high enough during 3 years..she said she has sleep apnea!!! They said mail in hard copies..they would re-review so now I wait! She said if they deny again DrP will talk to medical director and hopefully that wil get approval..but hoping the approve second appeal! ..so hoping praying they will approve this time! I'm stressing OUT!!!i Ha!! Never been told I'm not "fat"enough! :/

How close are u 2 surgery?

Mine gives a decision within minutes of the cooridnator filing I have Bc/Bs alabama

Thank u Debbie! I somewhat expected it I don't know why ..I guess I figured this process wouldn't be easy for approval ...but I am praying it will get approved..I just want so badly to be happy with myself & healthy!!!

Boo on the full psych but yay on that being only requirement!!! Keep me posted!
