Wish I could self pay but..my hubby HATES the idea of this ..and informed me that he wasn't paying a dime which is fine...I Carry the insurance so that's the only reason I'm able to get it done..when he carried it he refused ...

Mommy I'm like 2 points away! Uggggh! But I am doing my "6 month diet" and according to that doc my BMI is like 40.2!! Which is what I have it at! So frustrating I'm going to another surgeon on dec.4 because the girl who handles the insurance stuff is a major major TURD! The surgeon is great but her ha! She's a nightmare! The surgeon I'm going to see the 4th is great I hope his staff if helpful! I'm so worried about not getting approved! I have 100 # to loose as well I'd like to loose about 120? But that would put me at my lowest weight for my height and I'm tall! But hey I'd certainly take that!! Lol

Catgyrl I understand high bp to def. be a comorbid? But heck what do I know! Wish my surgery coordinator was so nice! She's just like owell don't for see this happening anytime soon! I wanna just well snap! Anyway I went over her head and called the girl who is the WLS advocate @ the hospital she hopefully will help! She has had WLS surgery and understands! where the other girl has never had an issue and is prob like 25?If not i have another doc I will visit ..not what I wanna do but I'm not quitting ! Good luck to u girl!

The girl said if my doc recorded a weight that put me @ 40 for past 3 years to come in they could "reweigh" me...but if they don't show a 40 for 3 years I guess I can't b approved?((

Shona like everyother..anything below 40 must have comorbities or atleast 40..I am like 39 comorbities...well I was 2 weeks ago I fluctuate about 7 lbs which today makes me @40 but when I was @ doc was 39 lol go figure..the issue is that they require 3 years of being atleast a 40 BMI..my doc records so far show me below that slightly ! Thanx for the good mojo ...I'm just stressing!

Yes I started the diet this oct. and surgery date idk? I was thinking early summer? I don't mind the requirements@ all I just wish like u said...they would realize the yo yo part and that I don't keep it off..if I loose 10 I gain back 15 ! Lol

The crazy thing about this is I weighed today my BMI is actually 40 now! I fluctuate back and forth 7ish pounds when I weighed 2 weeks ago I was down 7 now I'm back up! The issue is my records from the past 3 years don't show my BMI 40 or higher probably around 38/39..no comorbities ..I have migraines that's about it..Uggh I'm so upset and dissapointed because I just knew this would b my path to help me become healthier..I've been a "big girl " all my life!

I am beyond disappointed and upset! The surgery coordinator @ my doc is not the friendliest kinda person .:-(

Ok so I got an email today saying my BMI is to low like 39/39.5 .i have no known comorbity issue ..I should b glad but I'm @least 100 lbs over weight! I'm 5'8 1/2 if I was 1/2 inch shorter wouldn't be an issue! I don't think :/ has anyone dealt with this and worked it out to get it approved?

My insurance requires me to do 6 month doc supervised diet.... And my surgeon says its ridiculous they just do it to throw a detour and try to make u get frustrated and give up! His office is awesome I saw where u said they won't talk to u until u have met all of their requirements ..my surgeon has told me to call email anytime ..so I guess I'm blessed...now having said all that my 6 months won't be up til APRIL!!! Ughhh!!! So I completely understand the out of patience part!! I wanted surgery YESTERDAY lol!! Good luck and January will b here before ya know it girl!!

Mytime....I have heard tht you go thru a time after surgery where u question your decision ..hang in there! Also I am hoping after I have the surgery which will be springish he will realize its ok! He just doesn't get it & that's ok..I won't tell anyone other than him & my oldest daughter because I don't want to deal with the pressure to not have the surgery.after its done its done then it won't matter.im not telling my dad because he just lost my mom in January & the thought of me doing this would worry him.good luck with ur journey!! DL I agree! I have dieted my whole life while I dont have as much to loose as many on here ..I do need to loose a good bit of weight. I have been a yoyo dieter since I was a teen! I loose 10 I gain 15-20... I want to use this surgery as a tool to get healthy ..sadly I have just started my journey and my diet will not be finished until late springish..my insurance requires a 6 month diet with 7 documented drs visits consecutively /: I think he sees it as somewhat "barbaric" and I understand really I do but it's my body my life! I think the reason my family would never approve is because I have an aunt who had the surgery 10 years ago and she went to the extreme got down to a girls 14 @ onetime probably a 2 /4 now.. And she wouldn't do what the surgeon told her to ..she told me the other day she "refuses" to live off of protein shakes and eat that way.shes scared to gain a pound I think..and that I understand also but I just want to be healthy not be a size 2 ...I understand the worries I just get disheartened by the snide comments and the I don't wanna hear about it.i am supportive of anything he does and it kinda hurts.

Good to hear!! Unfortunately my mom passed away back In January ..but all is ok! Miss her like crazy but she's in a much better place !! Again glad u r well!! Blessings;-)

C diff is AWFUL!! My mom had it while going thru chemo... Praying for u!!

Cookier224 that's exactly how my hubby is and would be! Congrats on ur loss ! He will NEVER be onboard I know for sure! If I can get approved for surgery and get healthy that's all I'm worried about..it would help for support tho !

Guess I shouldn't be complaining but.. I go to doc and my BMI is borderline to low. While doc will do bypass he says the girl who handles insurance blew the wind outta my sail.. My BMI was 39.5 I hve no comorbidities ... She need records showing my past 3 year weights ( can't remember back that far what my BMI would have been... I know I was over weight tho! Keeping my fingers crossed it was an exceptae BMI ... Uggh all my life my weight has been an issue !! Now it maynot be?? Seriously:( I know I should like a whinny baby I'm just so worried I won't get approved any one else been thru this? Btw my screen had disappeared. So I cannot see what I'm typing!
