Shocking remark from my husband.......

Recommended Posts

Today my husband and I were talking. I was telling him about something that happened at work and all of a sudden he stops me in mid sentence and says "Damn........you've lost a lot of weight." I was just so flabbergasted that I couldn't even finish my sentence and lost my train of thought. The reason it meant so much to me is that since I have had surgery my husband has never said ANYTHING to me. Although he supported me he was kind of against me having the band done.........said it was unhealthy and even when other people were saying they could see me loosing weight nothing from him. I am now 8 1/2 mos out and have lost about 65 lbs and he notices. That comment probably meant the most to me than from anyone. I sometimes felt that they felt they were obligated to say those things but he never did..........until now!! I know this is probably a wierd post but it's a little nsv that means alot to me and I just wanted to share with you all!!

Yeah, Carmen!! It took the boy a while, but at least you know he wasn't giving you a bunch of empty compliments. You have done a fantastic job!

Compliments from your spouse are a wonderful thing! We all need that from our significant other . My husband is constantly stroking my ego and it does feel good! What a great NSV!! Good for you and good for him that hefinally noticed

That must have been wonderful to hear! I think my husband has never said anything because he is afraid I'll think he didn't love me before. He will wholeheartedly agree with me if I am admiring myself or trying on a new smaller size or something, but he's never said anything out of the blue like that.

How nice for you, Lioness! I'll bet it felt wonderful.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
