Eating Out :(

It's official!.... I can't eat out!

Went out to eat for dinner and I ate too much & feel nasty. I ate slow but didn't measure and didn't realize how much was going in :'( I ordered a Cobb salad with no Bacon or dressing I just at the egg, the a lil turkey and the avocado. But my husband had shrimp and I kept picking and picking and probably ate 10 pieces of little shrimp.

I'm nauseous but nothing will come up. So much discomfort. I didn't get the full feeling until 20 minutes after so late and I can't express my feelings of disgust!

  • I can eat out without problems. I measure everything at home on a food scale so I have a pretty good idea of what the amount I can eat looks like....I just separate that amount out into another plate

My doctor its making me do 3 weeks. Fudge I can't take this any more!!!! My surgery was 8/15 and I'm still on liquids <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

My doctor has me on liquids for a while and then 3 weeks of purée. Each doctor is different.

I will be more than happy to get past the puree phase...it is horrible I can't eat anything!!! So I'm stuck with shakes, applesauce, mashed potatoes and just recently added grits.

Your already eating solids???

Yeah, I did clear in the hospital. When I was discharged I was on full liquid and Jello etc for a week. Then from 1week to 1month its was soft foods... Scrambled egg, cottage cheese, Beans etc. At my one month I'm on chicken shrimp all veggie and fruit and salad.

It's the morning after a really painful night... I still feel FULL! I'm sipping water- I have no desire for food today.

I think I'm going to do a liquid/protein day :(

I had my surgery on 8/23/2012

I was on Clear liquids in the hospital

When discharged I was told to stay on clear liquids or full liquids for no more than 2 weeks UNLESS I started to feel bad like low blood sugar bad

I was shocked that it happened the Monday after surgery I tried Beans and they sat well

I must have a surgeon that is flexible based on the person

I feel lucky

Today we were out shopping and the rest of my family wanted lunch so we went to taco bell and I had half a serving of beans and it pleased my pouch

Just wanted to share my experience so far

Actually I JUST heard from a friend who had her surgery three years ago that APPARENTLY she was on each stage for TWO weeks!? Whereas I was only on each stage for a week each...has anyone else heard/done this??

To me that sounds like three meals... The shrimp could be one, the egg another, and turkey and avocado another. If you don't have a scale just remember that your surgeon made your pouch the size of an egg or golf ball so your meal shouldn't be much larger at this point.

Yep, I am on each stage for two weeks, full, puree, soft and then regular...

I eat out every night. It's just me and my husband, so I don't cook any more. Before we go, I check the nutrient content on wherever we're going so I'll know what to order and how much I can eat. I hope that helps.
