Sushi

So I'm a sushi addict. While I enjoy sashimi, I prefer rolls. Has anyone had experiences with sushi post op? Can you ask to make a roll with no rice? Will they do it?

Any suggestions?

I miss spicy tuna!

I havent had the surgery yet, but a few months back when i was doing lindora (protein diet) i found a number of sushi restaurants that have rolls with no rice :) its good, better with rice, but it was still sushi and they were rolls.

Thanks. I like certain roll bc of the aoli and other ingredients that sashimi just doesn't have! Did you tolerate the nori wrap?

I asked for no rice and they looked at me like I had three heads. They did however make them with brown rice. I just kind of ate through the middle of it.

I'm right there with you. It will be one for my "last/final" meals

OMG that's one thing that I love and can't wait too eat it with out rice, the only bad thing is that I'm only 2 1/2 weeks post op

Has anyone tried oysters on half shell post op?

That sounds so good right now! Wonder if that would get stuck? I'll have to ask my nutritionist.

As far as oysters...I"ve been told to chew everything to a puree feel. I'm guessing if you can do that with an oyster then you can have it. Can't say it's for me LOL
