  1. Hi there! I was just checking the Canadian forum and I don't see anyone on here. I am from Alberta and just had gastric bypass on July 4th. I am looking to connect with other Canadians because I have found a lot of the products recommended are not available in Canada. Thanks
  2. Hi. I'm two months post op and I barely eat. I throw up a lot but not everything. The nurse has ruled out a stricture because I can keep some food and drink down. I feel upset to my stomach all the time with what ever I put in it. It gives me nausea. Smells get to me too. I can't stand the smell of some foods, perfumes, etc. I'm not pregnant. My weight loss has slowed down. I'm still losing but only two pounds a week. I did lose a lot on the pre op diet but I'm unhappy with my current results. My nutritionist doesn't recommend working out until I can up my food intake. If I force myself to eat I become sick. Anyone else experience this? Any advice. I'm told it gets better but wow somedays I regret I did this to myself.

    2 Months And Frustrated

Thank you very much. I just want to get past this stage of regret and be thankful for this surgery.

    2 Months And Frustrated

Thanks everyone. Sadly its protein I can't keep down...cheese, fish, chicken, shrimp and beef. One min it stays down and the next meal it doesn't. I have lost close to 100 pounds....about 70 of that pre op and 30 post op. I just wish that after two months post op I was losing more than 30 but I'm still proud of my loss. I've stopped vitamins for a trial as recommended by my nurse. Sadly I'm still sick despite stopping them.

    2 Months And Frustrated

I'm sorry to hear. It sounds like we are going through the same thing. I think I'm in starvation mode too.

    Upon Reaching Goal Weight

Winter is coming. This year I hope to buy an inexpensive coat rather than the $250-300 ones sold in a plus sized store.

    Upon Reaching Goal Weight

That's good. I hope we get the same products and deals when Target opens here. I heard the US has more option for plus sized stores. We basically have three stores owned by the same company ...if you need higher plus sized clothing.

    Upon Reaching Goal Weight

I can't wait to have my own style of clothes rather than buying what fits. I also can't wait to go canoeing and feel like I won't capsize it. I also want to go swimming and feel comfortable in a swim suit. I've never wanted to go somewhere tropical but the thought of being smaller and more comfortable in my own skin, I want to go.

    Breaded Proteins

As anyone tried breaded meats post op? I'm specifically talking about fish and seafood. I have some breaded shrimp that you bake NOT fry but I'm not sure how my post op body would deal with the breaded part. I'm 4 1/2 weeks post op.

    Breaded Proteins

Thanks...yeah I figured it was bad for me but if I feel so bad throwing food out. Sadly I don't even care for the breaded shrimp. Prior to surgery I found it tastes strange but I hate wasting. That's probably part of the addiction. I was raised to clean my plate and not waste food.

    Soda

I used to have a pop addiction where I would drink a few cans of Coke a day. I gave it up in January when I started the pre op program. I haven't has pop since then. Now that I'm post op I don't plan to ever have it again. One I don't want to deal with the possible side effects and two I didn't do this my body to get back into my addictions again. I know that one sip would turn into a can and then it would go down hill from there. However this is just my personal choice because I know where I came from and I never want to go back there again.

    Feel Terrible

I'm four weeks post op and feel terrible too. You aren't alone. My stomach cramps at anything I put in. I hate food. Nothing tastes good or satisfying. I'm supposed to get in 66 g of Protein a day and most days I'm not even half that. I'm tired all the time. I sleep for 10-13 hours. When I don't sleep that long I take frequent naps. I'm told it gets better but that must be months away. I hope to look back at this and laugh.

    What To Order At Starbucks?

I was told the refresher has caffeine in it but I haven't actually checked it out. The barista handing out free samples told me that.

    Sushi

I too hope to be able to have sushi someday...I live California rolls.

    What To Order At Starbucks?

I have been having a passion iced tea...zero sugar in it but the barista mentioned you can put sugar free vanilla syrup in it. I miss my coffee too. I can't wait to drink it again...non fat and sugar free of course.

    4 Weeks Post Op

I'm glad I'm not alone. Thanks for sharing. I hope things get better.
  20. Hello. Today I am 4 weeks post op. I'm really struggling to eat and get my protein in. I eat about twice a day ...2 tbsp at a time. I'm supposed to be eating more than that. Liquids go down well as long as they aren't protein drinks. I've been fighting an infected incision and I'm still on these gross antibiotics. The scale hasn't moved in two weeks. I'm hoping it's because of the infection. I'm gassy all the time and everything I eat seems to sit so heavy. I never thought I'd say this but despite the head hunger, I hate food. It's become a chore. Does anyone else feel this way? Anyone 4 weeks out and struggling to eat? Thanks
  21. Thanks for posting your work out routine. I'm nervous that working out will be hard at first because I'm not taking in a lot of calories
