Lets Have Some Fun

I've been so focused on all the things I'm giving up and (no surprise) found myself a bit depressed.

I made myself make.a list of all the things I will gain. Here are my top 10, what are yours?

1. Going to an amusement park and.actually being able to ride a ride.

2. Playing with my kids.

3. Being able to go on float trips without flipping the canoe everytime I move.

4. Joining a softball team again and other athletic activities.

5. Getting rid of all those meds with ugly side effects.

6. Not having to shop at *special* stores and.pay extra for my size clothes.

7. Not being afraid to have my picture made.

8. Sitting in a normal sizes chair without getting my butt stuck (or risk not fitting at all)

9. Feeling sexier and more confident.

10. Last but DEFINITELY not least....not being in pain 24/7

Can't wait to get old navy or other cheaper jeans instead of lane Bryant's super expensive jeans!

  • Doesn't it seem like doctors blame every medical problem you have on your weight? "Oh you have tumors all over your body and are bleeding from your eyes? Get on the elliptical fatty" - Kaylee Ann ~

  • Can't wait to fit "in" a chair, rather than "on" a chair. Also looking forward to being able to wear standard jewelry (7.5" bracelets, 18" necklaces, etc) and not always having to look for the larger

This is so true for me. I can't wait to wear tank tops.

Same here I hate my arms so ready for the cute summer dresses!

Going to get a pedicure without feeling like the person doing your pedicure is laughing or talking about you in a different language or feeling like they are arguing about who is gonna service you lol

I can definitely relate to this! I have had one pedicure, on my wedding day. I have always felt so self conscious about this. I guess I always felt like I was unworthy and I felt like the technician was disgusted with me. I've had a few manicures and the technicians have been really rude and wouldn't really talk to me and would talk in a foreign language to their co workers.

What I'm looking forward to:

  • The option to have children and be a good example if I do
  • A better/healthier relationship with my husband
  • Becoming a runner and completing a marathon
  • Fitting comfortably into an airplane seat (I've avoided flying due to this)
  • Shopping with my sister in the normal sizes (We've NEVER been able to do this together!)
  • Enjoying amusement park rides again!
  • Shopping at VS for the first time ever and not having to go straight to the beauty/makeup dept because nothing fits!
  • Not being the fat invisible/overlooked friend
  • Not worrying about weight restrictions
  • Kayaking
  • Not feeling so miserable during this Memphis heat!

I hear ya! One summer back in 2005, I was working as a cashier in between college terms and this little old lady asked me when I was due. I was so humiliated! I had no idea what to say to her!

OMG. Yes. I will only do my own. Ugh.

You guys have listed so many great things. I have to say for me the greatest of the great is just enjoying feeling good about being me. There really are no words to describe how delicious that feels. Every day, every hour, every minute, every place - I'm loving being me. That's the reward at the end of the journey and it is priceless.
