Does anyone out there have PCOS? My 20 year old daughter does. She is going to have revision surgery from band to bypass. We didn't know that the band isn't very effective for women with PCOS. How do you handle mood swings, and sleep problems? Does PCOS go away post surgery? Thanks! Christi

I have pcos! I had the bypass 6 weeks ago. Before surgery I asked my surgeon what will happen if I loose the excess weight! He said that is will make a 80% difference! And my period will be 100% better. I do now have horrible mood swings :(

I have pcos Which includes pmdd. Right after my surgery I had a 2 week - worst period of my life. Now, after a hospital stint with dehydration my period has come back again - mood swings but not as heavy or as much pain. Just a really horrible headache/ Migraine. My doc said I need to see gyno for alternative BCP methods besides pill.

Another pco victim here as well. I am hoping the weight loss will help. I don't see why it wouldn't, everything I've ever read or been told is there is no cure but the best treatment is weight loss.

Another PCOS victim here! :-( I have no idea what changes to expect. I actually an on the IUD and prior to that I was on the depo shot. I rarely get my period and got it the night of my surgery. I was told by a nurse that it was mainly because of the anti-coagulant shots given to me and that many other female patients get the same. Now what I would like to know is if I will see diminished excess hair growth or not? That has been my major problem:-(

surgery date: 7/30/12

Thats what i need most of all.... to get the facial Hair growth diminished!! if not gone all together! I asked and was told that since its a hormone issues and the surgery will help with the hormones...it should start to diminish as the estrogen gets higher than testosterone.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
