June 22, 201214 yr Had anyone tried cantaloupe? I'm 2 Weeks post op and want to try it. If you did try it how did it go? Sent from my SAMSUNG-NOTE using RNYTalk
June 22, 201214 yr Two weeks out may be a little soon. They told me not to add fruits (bananas, apples, pears, melons, cantaloupe, peaches, mangos, nectarines and plums) until week 6. You might want to check with your doctor's office. There seems to be a pretty wide variance in what doctor's recommend to their patients. I love cantaloupe so I can feel your craving!
June 22, 201214 yr Cantaloupes and melons in general are high in sugar. I would be very cautious about introducing any melon this early on in your journey. I am 4 1/2 months out and just started eating a couple of strawberries or 1-2 cherries. Dumping can be brought on by any sugar - including that found in fruit. My opinion is, don't do it. *D*
June 22, 201214 yr I'm nine wks out and tried watermelon last week and had a difficult time getting it down for some reason, it felt like it was caught in my throat. I would check with your doctor first. Maybe make a smoothie with it, but it is high in sugar !!!

June 23, 201214 yr I had bad experience with watermelon. Got stuck & it came up. I'm afraid to eat & I have my surgeon approval to eat whatever I want.
June 23, 201214 yr I have had banana and peaches in cottage chesse, and both in protein shakes. Surgery 6/4. Almost 3 weeks out. Both were great. No skin on peaches
June 23, 201214 yr I added peaches in own juice to lf cottage cheese and had no problems ....but just a little continue of peaches like the dole individual ones.
June 23, 201214 yr Mmmm cantaloupe && peaches!! I've been to afraid to try real fruit other than a tiny bit of mashed bananas .... How about Pinapples?? I'm 6 weeks out and would love some crushed Pinapples in my cottage cheese.... But I'm afraid... Lol
June 24, 201214 yr I eat peaches and nectarines in my cottage cheese with no problems. Scared to try higher sugar fruits like pineapple and strawberries.
